How to modify B5 damper mounts to enable on car rebound adjustment for KW V2's

This is a quick D.I.Y. on how to modify the stock damper mounts so we can adjust the rebound on our B5's without having to take the whole damper, spring, and mount off.
I know some members on here have KW V2's and they probably curse under their breath or out loud when they were setting their suspension up.

I'm not going to explain how to remove the whole suspension, there plenty other write ups for that. Instead, I will just show you how to modify the damper mounts in a short and simple way.

Tools required after you have the mounts off:
A drill, electric or air powered.
Drill bit of your choice, I think I used a 3/8" bit.
Some sort of cutting wheel, maybe even a Dremel.

Once you have the front mounts off, you drill a hole directly in the middle.

Next, bolt them back up, and drill straight up from inside towards the engine compartment through the hole you previously drilled in step one.

Now go look under you hood in between the the 2 damper mount bolts. You will see a nice little hole where you can adjust your rebound once you reinstall your suspension.

Now for the rears. Get out a cutting tool of your choice and cut a 2" wide by 1" tall window in the damper mounts.

That's it, now reinstall your suspension and start whipping corners!

your welcome! glad it worked out

you will enjoy your KW's. How low did you go(GTF)? What stiffness settings did you wind up going with?

I haven't measured the GTF, but it was 13" from the center of the bottom bolt hole to the top of the adjustable perch for the fronts and 4 and 1/4" on the rear. It didn't drop much maybe an inch or so, I really don't care for the slammed or stance looks as this is my DD and ride comfort is just above my performance needs. As for dampening, I went full stiff then backed the front off 6 clicks and the rears 4. I have only driven a few miles since the install, but I love the V2s already! Makes my sport suspension seem floaty. I does seem to bounce a lot if the road isn't smooth, but I will play with my adjustments after a week of driving and see just how different the settings can be.

    What's your settings?

my settings are 8 or 9(cant remember which one, but I have it written down somewhere) clicks from full stiff in the fronts, and 11 clicks from full stiff in the rears. your settings are totally opposite from mine. I get zero bounce.

once I get my car back on the road, I am going to go one click stiffer on both front and rear
