o2 spacer + CA smog question

Hey guys I'm thinking about moving back to S.Cal for a couple of years and wondering if any of you guys have any issue with the visual inspection for o2 spacer. Will they automatically fail you if they see the spacer?

Anyone with spacer had any problem passing?

I don't think Smog guys would look underneath the car unless you give them some obvious reason to...

Why do you have the spacer? Do you have a high flow cat or no cat? If so, you will most definitely fail smog.

I have high flow cat on 2 of my cars. Here in Nashville as long as it don't throw a code and evap monitor ready it will pass. I remember they fail me one time for taping a small leaky air hose back in Cali.

The cheapest indy quoted my $12k to replace 2 cats on my M5. I put spacer on it and pass here. I don't want to replace the cats on both M5 and my A4 if I can get away with it.

That's exactly what I ask them too. BMW dealership quoted me $180 more. Apparently each oem cat cost $3800 each X 2 + labor. They say both cat was bad + o2 sensors. I end up getting the after market high flow cats for $700 each
