Oil Change 10' S5

Hey so my buddy has an S4 2010 and he was telling me that he had just gotten his oil changed at the stealership for like an outrageous price (200+$). He claimed you can go 10k miles without a change AND that it has to be only done at the stealership because the oil change on an audi isnt like a normal car.. being more complicated? Is this true, or can I change my oil like I have myself on my past cars? Id really like to avoid having to pay that much for an oil change.. but if i have to I will.

i recommend buying ur filters from audi dealership though. oil will be your own preference, only approved of course

the change interval will be up to you. iv heard people say u can go 10k before a change, and some say 5k. i would pick the middle ground, which would b around 7-8k
