    Remote Starter b7

Anyone know what it takes to install a remoter starter on 2007 A4 2.0 I searched for a diy but couldnt find anything and any threads about it were basicly just "don't let your cars idle too long" or about the key fobs. I want to know how complicated is it, how much time preferably a diy. Thanks!

It's not recommended by any means. I doubt you will find a DIY out there. Long story short avoid at all costs and suck it up!

My car has a remote starter (I didn't even know it had one and have never used it) and I'd say that there's virtually no way to DIY.
Have a look at my thread about this:

The wiring is so complicated and extensively integrated into the car that I can't confidently attempt to remove it, let alone install a system! There's a link in my thread link above to the company who installed mine. I think they're still in business if you are interested in going that route.

Ive heard that remote starters aernt exactly great for cars =/ not sure if true or not.

but aftermarket one uses one of your main keys as the remote ignition starter, blah blah blah/.
or one that is completely separate from using original keys.. not sure how that would affect overall security of the car tho.

Same here, I'd like to know what is involved, how far in do you have to dig to get to the wiring.
