Greetings my fellow AZ'ers, I haven't been as active on the boards as much as I wish to the past few months, however I felt it was time I put my experience with ETG out to the community. I would like to thank this group for their countless efforts, time, and attention in tuning my S4 over the course of a few months period. Starting in September 2012, just a few weeks before our favorite H20i, I was faced with my 3rd set of BW ko4's, toast. I decided to switch to the f21's last minute. However, I was in a pickle regarding the software I would run on this new to me turbo setup. My former tuner VAST was now out of the scene, so I was left with a few other options as we all know, but didn't want to break the bank. I initially contacted Josh aka Jfonz, to have a file written for the new to me f21 setup +meth and other supporting mods I had ran with the ko4s for a number of years. His response was fast and efficient, and he assured me he would have the car running well. A few days past, and the f21s were slapped on and buttoned up the evening before h20i, literally. That same morning I began to grow nervous, because I had not submitted payment to Jfonz to have the new file written and sent to my home address on time! Zzzzzz. I contacted Jfonz at that point and asked, if it were possible to have the new tuned ecu overnighted to my location in Ocean City that h20i weekend. Without thinking about it, he happily did so, and sure thing, once it arrived, she fired right up! Coming from a family owned business background, personal customer service and attention to detail are two things I like to employ and always appreciate when other business professionals apply in their style of management. Both Josh and partner Sean have gone above and beyond in their customer service efforts and I cannot thank them enough.

As we know, remote tuning a car can have many many many variables. Over the course of the following months, I began to stay in touch with another owner of ETG, Sean, who was located in the same general area as myself. Upon completion of a few data logging sessions, Sean was able to dial the car in amazingly! The knowledge that this group of gentlemen has regarding our platform and other platforms is truly valuable and has translated into something many enthusiasts should be aware of . I could not be happier with the results from ETG , and I highly recommend anyone who is considering anything from a stage 1 flash to a custom file running e85 to please consider Epic Tuning Group in regards to your tuning necessities.

Thanks for reading and if anyone has any questions , please feel free to ask.
Good luck to everyone with their beasts!

When you get nervous you fall asleep? You might want to look into that as it could prove problematic in day to day life

Glad to hear you have a happy and healthy B5

Literally the only reason that I refuse to use ETG is that stupid $250 flashloader that you "have to buy" if you don't want to send in your ECU. wtf is that

I considered ETG also, but when I found out a stage 3 tune would be $700+ with emissions deletes, I disregarded it as an option. What's this about sending in the ECU? I wouldn't mind doing that as I have a spare...

Pricing wasn't an issue for me as it was included as part of the package that Sean put together for me. That sounds a little steep though. For that money, I would just take it to EPL and be done with it. ETG dictates that you have to buy their $250 flashloader if you want remote tuning capabilities. Otherwise, you have to send your ECU into them for each revision (which, for those of us that don't have spare ECUs laying around, is really inconvenient and time-consuming). It's an easy $250 when people purchase their tunes and then don't realize that they can't get easily get a revision...

It is to avoid people reselling tunes and having files floating around that others can use/distribute. Its asset protection.
RIP Daz, you will be missed.

EPL has asset protection as well. I think you just do it through their website or software you receive with your purchase.

I'm not saying that it isnt't. There are just other tuners I would pay/send my ECU to before them. Personal preference.

I've been pretty vocal about my distaste for the flasher as I purchased a tune and subsequent service prior to the flasher's existence but was still forced to buy the flasher or suffer physical snailmail back and forth.

Having said that, Josh and ETG at large have been amazing at providing me support with months in between requests due to my own various issues. There are definitely MANY bumps to be experienced but anyone complaining about price doesn't really comprehend the amount of service that you could and likely will end up needing with remote tuning.

Does ETG have anti lag/launch control?

You can get it but you have to pay for it.

I will have some logs posted in a few days. No one is going to tune a stage 3 setup for less than a thousand bucks the right way. ETG is very competitive with their pricing and will create a file with all of your needs. Have a good night amigos. Thanks for reading.

The only thing that matters is that you are happy with the tune you paid for.

Boomer, you were very fortunate to have Lee dial your car in for a very good deal. I know his pricing is very competitive as well, but from the small business aspect he is forced to maintain low prices for the time being because he is upcoming in the industry, as ETG is. So your right, you can have a setup tuned for under a thousand...with Lee or the route I went I suppose. I am looking forward to crossing ways with your beast at race wars.

    Have a great day guys
