Does this AWE Exhaust sound different to you?

So I am getting ready to install my exhaust tonight and I have been watching clips of the AWE exhaust for shi*s and giggles. I ran across this video of someones AWE exhaust with stock downpipes and seems to have a much more crisp and nicer mellow tone compared to all the other AWE exhaust clips I have heard. Maybe its just me.

Other clips I have heard sound more raspy at the end of the revs. I also heard the exhaust in person and it also seems more raspy than the above exhaust.

Seems a bit more raspy?

Thoughts? Just difference of cameras? Is the first exhaust what I can expect the exhaust to sound like after it has broken in?

Well i think it could be two things:

1. Different cameras
2. One is recorded from a distance vs. having the camera mounted a few inches from the exhaust (which in my experience always makes it sound more aggressive)

For whatever it's worth, I find that my AWE w/ stock DPs sounds a lot "smoother" inside the car than it does from outside. But if I am inside a parking structure and blip the throttle with the windows down, I can hear a lot more burble/rasp.

definitely camera is the reason, you can tell the first link is shot with an iphone and the 2nd looks to be like a gopro.

You can't judge exhaust videos off youtube. It will always sound different and better in person.

You'll love it, either way. Camera's are all different. That last video sounds like the car hadn't warmed up yet too.

Thanks! Its definitely not a good video. I need to make more, but I haven't found someone to stand there as video recording dumby yet haha.

I'm still having an issue with mine where the muffler on the left side wants to slide over. Going to try and fix that over the weekend.

Did you use those clamps for the hangers? Should help lateral movement.

Clamps are on there, but only on one side. Its wanting to shift the other direction. If they were supplied for both sides it would be good. I'm going to try and adjust that center piece that holds the midpipes together.

Mine came with two. Well, I havent dug through the whole box yet, but per the instructions on the there should be two. Says two hanger post clamps.

ALL of these videos sound amazing! I hope more 3.0T owners keep posting more and more videos of their setups.

Oh and it's definitely the cameras. I have video'd my exhaust with 4 different cameras and they all sound different. I finally had to have my wife drive my car for me while I stood outside listening to know what it sounded like to others! LOL It really sounds different from inside the car, even with the windows down.

mine was with Flip HD and mounted very close to the exhaust tips...it was a cold start too.

see my other video as it represents much more what it sounds like on the street...in manual mode it does make some fart sound between shifts as the DSG is abit lazy and slow compared to PDK and DCT....but downshifting it blips the throttle nicely and sounds sweet.

I am totally happy with mine so far.
