    Fuel Pump Questions

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi All,

About a week ago my fuel pump went out and I have been researching what pump to buy. 034 Motorsports has a couple drop in Pumps Bosch 040 and 044 for around $400 and then I found a DW300 but I don't know if that one is a drop in. Currently upgrades are, ko4's, 630cc injectors, 85mm Maf housing, 3" exhaust and Custom Tune. Wondering if anyone might be able to point me in the right direction and save some of my sanity, it would be greatly appriciated.

also wondering if a stock fuel pump would work just fine or if because of my upgrades I need a bigger fuel pump.

The DW300 will be fine. It is cheaper than the 040/44. A stock new one should also be sufficient for K04's but I don't know how much truth is to that statement. I went 044 so I would never have to worry again(IE bigger turbos than k04)

It is not a drop in but can easily be made to stay in place. Do a search and you should see that vast I think used to use that pump and sell it with an install kit. Just need some hose clamps to keep pump from falling to low and some orings to deal with pump being smaller in diameter than stock.

USP Motorsports has a drop in pump as well for more fuel flow. FYI, I am running 550cc EV14's with an OEM fuel pump and it seems just fine after 7k miles.

Just an FYI I was looking into the high output drop in kit from USP Motorsports. And they have confirmed the fuel pump they use in that kit is the 044 pump.

I didn't know about this company. I'll check them out. Hoping to get something that will drop in. Because of my lack of knowledge at the moment :-)

I've got the 034 Motorsports 044 drop in, amazing piece, works beautifully, and is as stated, straight drop in. No messing around with changing out just the pump itself into the old basket. Just make sure when ya go to change it you've got like 2 gallons left in your tank, is gonna make things a lot easier. Also the two power and ground wires your gonna hook up, that you think are (+) and (-) are reversed, the wire you think should go to (+) goes on the (-) and vis versa, idk why but it's just that way hah

Here is how the install is going to go.

    Step 1: Install, wont start.
Step 2: Pull back out, remove plug on inlet, reinstall, still wont start.
step 3: Pull out again, put the wires on right (black is +12v), put back in, success!!

JK but I have seen this done before.
I have only hooked one up backward once, while talking shit to the owner about dumb fuks hooking them up backwards
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.
