    Stasis exhaust

I'm thinking of going with a Stasis exhaust over AWE for financial reasons...I don't want to pay $700 downpipe if the Stasis kit includes one...that's $700 to put towards other mods . Can anyone confirm if the Stasis kit includes downpipes?

Quote from STaSIS white paper about their exhaust: "The STāSIS B8 A4 exhaust for the manual 6 speed (MT6) and tiptronic is a direct bolt-in, CNC mandrel bent, T304 stainless steel cat-back system. Our exhaust features a down pipe, mid pipe with resonator, and rear section with a driver and passenger side muffler."

+1, I have the same exhaust, and I plan on installing it here in the next couple of weeks along with a high flow cat.

As Alpha Ice said, the STaSIS B8 A4 exhaust is cat back.

Our cat is attached directly to the back of the turbine housing.

Stasis is calling the pipe the attaches to the back of the cat and turns down, a "down pipe"...

Technically, it does direct exhaust flow down but it should not be confused with the "test pipes" that are also commonly referred to as "down pipes" yet attach to the back of the turbine housing, eliminating the catalytic convertor altogether.

Hope it helps clear up any confusion.

The STaSIS exhaust is great now.

My car became the unwitting "beta-tester" for the early design back in '09. My thrashing the car at the track became cheap R&D. Cost saving spot welds failed on baffles in the resonator housing as well as the rear mufflers. After each of those failures, and the subsequent tear downs of the system, the spot welds have supposedly all been replaced with seam welds. I believe it...since I'd have probably broken more spot welds if there were any left in the system.... After the system was replaced a few times, I noticed a new problem... unacceptable drone. Not a little bit.... We are talking about drone so bad that my ears were ringing just getting to/from the track. Tiring, draining, overwhelming. Once again, Henry Hsu began making internal modifications and their B8 A4 exhaust system that exists today (I believe the last one they gave me is the final evolution) is much quieter and more refined than aftermarket exhausts from other tuners as well extremely free flowing, while still presenting a pleasant deep burble at start up and idle.

They system looks so good (can we say artwork) that last year when I brought the Avant back from a dirty/rainy weekend at Thunderhill and dropped it at my detailer, I got a call asking if they could keep it overnight. I said sure and stopped by for breakfast the next day. The guys surprised me by taking me back into the shop where the Avant was up on a lift. They had had two guys work til late in the night polishing the entire exhaust system. They apparently started steaming the undercarriage and saw the exhaust piping and decided to give me a present. Pretty cool considering these guys usually work on exotic super cars...

Interesting. I never knew this. Stasis is catback, AWE is resonator back.

Not that it will matter much, but my AWE Exhaust splits into 2 sections just around the rear differential, whereas this splits into 2 right up front right after the first resonator which could give you more welcomed sound, or unwanted sound depending on your preference. Mine is still breaking in, but with my current HFC, downpipe (mid pipe imo) and half of the rear car end lol....it sounds ok. I know it will get better over the next 800-1000 miles, but it doesn't sound as good as I had heard from others....will def change tho, I'm just hoping for the better :) (Still sounds good, just not great like I had imagined)

Is this (or similar) valance available in a dual sided exhaust option?
I prefer it over the plain plastic valance.

Many folks were not pleased with the company and some of the extra work that had to be done to the rear valence. Here is how mine turned out in the end:

^ The FCA valence was for b8 pre-facelift only I believe. And I am almost positive the b8 and b8.5 valences are not interchangeable.

100% true. I guess I should've assumed from the picture he posted that he was inquiring about the "B8.5". Whoops!

I heard back from the Stasis guys, they confirmed it's catback, so you'll need to:
    a) use the stock cat
    b) get an HFC
    c) get a test pipe

I suggested to them they include a diagram of what's included in the kit, from where to where.

Ah, you may be waiting a long while for that to happen my friend! I hated the plain 3.2 rear valence that I had before. I'm glad my FCA one didn't have that many blemishes that needed correcting when I received it.

Not sure if this is what you meant but that is the s-line valence.

You'd think if you were going to do create a quad valence, you'd make it sportier looking than the plain plastic one.

I'm looking for a non s-line valence option that is prepped for quad exhaust!!! Without going custom route, last I checked there were 0 options for B8.5
