So I'm looking at purchasing a 2010 Q5 with around 77,000kms (~48,000miles) in Canada. I have done some research on the vehicle and it seems the largest problem is the carbon build-up in the 3.2L engine. Audi has extended the warranty for this issue at least, but I'm still a little unsure. The price is going to be around $33k + taxes. It may seem high, but prices are higher in Canada. I can pretty much get a new non-luxury brand suv (toyota, subaru, mazda, etc) for this price.
The used car dealership has provided an in-house inspection, but I'll take that with a grain of salt. It does have a clean accident history as well. I was planning on taking it to a Audi dealership and having them perform an inspection, do you think this is a good idea? Dealership is Glenmore Audi in Calgary if anyone is wondering.
I'm looking for advice on anything specific I should be looking for when buying a Q5. My previous vehicles are a 2008 Toyota Rav4 and a 2011 Subaru Forester. Both of these have run absolutely perfect, never had any issues.
I also am open to suggestions on other vehicles, or if buying a used Audi at this mileage may not be a smart purchase.
Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated.
