So guys I took a trip and had to park my car on the top level of a parking garage in Miami and it got cooked. So I was wondering what are my options?

Anyone who has a custom one please post a pic.

After just using 3M spray adhesive, I can tell you to make sure it sets for a day or two in the shade before exposing it to heat, my wrapped pillars are sagging where the glue has lost its stick.. Best bet would be to find some spray adhesive like they would have used in the factory.

My condolences. I'd rather blow the tranny than have the headliner start sagging. Has anyone had success taking a good one from one car and reinstalling in another?

I have had no luck with re glueing, the thin foam had turned to dust in my case. So I got rid of the car.

I have thumb tacks in my ceiling ATM. And I used Elmer's spray glue (not as good as 3M, probably)
I am planning on doing something about it, one day.

Had the same problem with the sag. Took the headliner out, scrape off the old glue and foam, bought suade cloth from local Michael's craft store and 3M Adhesive spray glue. Had it for 3 years now and so far, it stays.

Edit: DO NOT use other adhesive spray other than 3M...ask me how I know....It's not fun doing it twice.

How did you get the suede around the curves in the front?

OP: I'm not sure what part you're talking about, the pillars or around the light switch but I removed all the pillars and wrapped them. Be careful not to break the tabs. Also, for around the light switches, just use a shit load of glue, spread it evenly or it will seep though the material.
Grapebandit: As for the visor....I just got lazy...but now that you mentioned it, I think that'll be my next project.

Yea, I pulled them and re-glued them with 3M Emblem glue, its a black tube. You'll have to hold it for a minute or two, once it's on, just use masking tape to hold them in place.

Ray, how did you get it in and out of the car? Through the trunk? I think I read somewhere that you have to fold it.

I like the suede top. And it's nice to see another non-sunroof car. Listen to the man
when he says use no other besides 3M spray. The Elmer's spray lasted no time for me.

NO, don't fold it, it'll lose it's form. Just fold both front seats all the way down, fold the rear seats and remove it towards the trunk, try to angle it. You can lay it on the dashboard first then try to maneuver it out, you might have bend the sides just a little but do not fold them, it's made out of foam.

10k: How much did the suede cost you? and did you also re-foam or just go straight suede? Do you brush it at night?

Don't remember, but it didn't cost that much, no more than $20. Also, I scraped off the foam.

I am trying to figure out what to do. I just need the headliner re done. I tried to do the one on my Jetta and it was a bit too much. But I am liking the idea of suede.

Bring it somewhere to have done. If you plan on having the car for a bit it's a no brainer

Nope, it won't come out of the trunk on a sedan. FWD and Quattro are the same in that department. It's gotta come out of the passenger front door.

I have a wagon so that's not an issue but I found a local scene guy that will do it for 40$ plus a case of beer if I bring the material I want

mine came out the trunk and I have a sedan. I haven't put the headliner back in. I tried and the glue showed thru so I've been thinking of paying someone to do it, but the trunk on a sedan will work on a B5.
