Hello everyone. I just purchased some Akebono Ceramic brake pads. when i got my car a year and half ago the front pads and possibly the rotors were new and the rear pads had like 75% left. I feel no pulsing of the pedal when i stop and if i go feel the rotors with the finger they are pretty flat just a little uneven but very very slightly. I am putting on new wheels in a couple weeks and i was either going to go with eibach pro kit springs to drop it a little or get some drilled rotors to go with the brakes and wheels so that is all nice and nice. Do you think i can just slap those pads on the rotors that are on my car now without any issues. I want them to wear correctly. Also I have a black car and was thinking about painting the cailpers black any advice on the paint so i do them once and thats it!?!?!

Is their a lip on the rotor at all? drag your fingernail from the middle of the rotor to the edge, if it catches on the edge, just replace both together. For rotors, I have heard a lot of good things about Adams Rotors, plus they have a lot of different patterns. For painting, the ideal thing would be to take them off the car and have them powder coated. If this is time or cost prohibitive, then pick up some black caliper spray paint from auto zone, it should say high temperature. Mask out anything you don't want to get paint on it, and do several light coats. After, throw a coat of clear on that is also high temp rated. I did that on my calipers and it lasted for well over two years while still remaining shiny. Thats two years of brutal north east salt filled winters.

you should be able to just swap rotors, if the pads are uneven with the new ones, they might make a little noise at first but im sure it will go away once they get properly bedded in again.

as for caliper paint, you can do the high temp paint and clearcoat option, should last nicely. or go ahead and get the G2 caliper paint, its like the same thing but in a single stage paint, just paint once, and it's also a very tough enamel based paint so it lasts even better and made specifically for calipers. i did mine in red 2 years ago and they still look just as nice and bright, and clean off very easy, very easy to apply as well. i got the brush on kit and not the spray, the brush is much easier to do (no need to mask all that stuff), and also just goes on thicker and more durable than the spray paint.

I have frequently changed without doing older rotors. If the rotors are still within runout specs, you are fine. In fact my dealer recently replaced the rear pads as part of a caliper warranty repair and they used the old rotors, which had significant wear.
