how long are these (or any other coilovers) expected to last. I have about maybe 25k miles on mine and was wondering long much longer they should last before I have to start looking for new ones

too many factors to really tell how long they can last. that being said; driving conditions, road quality, daily or not daily driven, and so one determine the true life of the coilovers. someone really careless can blow out a unit the day it was installed out of the box with a decent hit, but i digress. just keep an eye out time to time for any oil splatter, and on occasion lower your volume and listen to how the car rides of certain bumps. with anything, good care will help prolong the life of anything.

You also don't have to buy new ones. If you don't need your car for 2-3 weeks you could remove the coils and send them to Bilstien in Cali to get them refurbished/serviced. Or if you need the car get another set of coils and swap out, then refurb and sell or keep.

This is a pretty interesting question for coils in general.

ST coils have a 5 year warranty and KW has a lifetime warranty.
    But what does that mean?
If a coil blows with 100k miles on it, will KW replace it? Or even ST? At 25k miles per year, I'll hit 100k in just 4 years.

You'd have to read the specific coilover warranty.

They may offer to rebuild/replace your shocks which would require you to remove them, ship them, wait, received them back, etc. The lifetime warranties may only apply to original owner, so buying a used set voids that.

In general the springs will likely never wear out. The shocks probably last about as long as an OEM shock, although I wouldn't be suprised if it was actually less. Either way, if you install early on and keep your car for 100k+, you'll probably need new ones just as you'd need new OEM shocks. I doubt any warranty covers normal wear over time, only if one blew or leaked premautrely. The collars could seize up or cross thread, but I think this would simply be 'user error' or improper maintenance.
