    25k Service Completed/AWE Mod Coming

    Hey guys,

I just had my 25k mile service Yesturday. Do you know if they do any flash or update with the stock TCU program? The gearbox feels twice as a smooth as before. There are no jerks are anything. The acceleration is now seamless and so is the deceleration, which is how a DSG should feel in the first place.

I am getting an AWE exhaust installed this Saturday. The system has 90mm black diamond tips and resonated down pipes. I how the black will look good with my ice silver w/ black accents look I'm going for. I am beyond excited and I can't wait to fall in love with my car all over again. I got quoted for about $2700 for the exhaust+DPs+tips+install. Does that price sound about right? I know these are expensive systems and I am really expecting great results like so many others on here have had.

Anyway hope I can just get some input. I'll update this thread with a review after I drive the car with the system.

What's an AWE exhaust, about $2000? So ~$700 for an install? Seems kind of steep to me.

Well it also includes the optional black diamond tips and the resonated down pipes. I was quoted 2399 for the system and 225 for the install, coming out to 2624.

Pretty sure downpipes are extra $700 then another $100 for the tips. So $1850+$800=$2650 right at what the OP was quoted. Unless you got the downpipes and tips for $1850 then you my friend got a steal and someone didn't make very much money.

How do you like the system after having it for a while? Res DPs, or stock?

I doubt you paid 1850 for a complete resonated system... if so, from where? unless it was used? For the NE the price seems fair. I got my non-res AWE with black diamond tips for an amazing price from TAG during a sales event. sales are the way to go for these cars because everything is so damn expensive to begin with. or slightly used.

That was with the resonated downpipes during a sale TAG was doing. Full system with quad silver tips. I actually went back and looked at my invoice and I paid $1874 shipped.

As mentioned above, resonated downpipes. I love the sound, and overall it's a good system. Both my resonated downpipes blew out about a year in, and had to be replaced. AWE was super easy to deal with, but I had to cover return shipping and any work on the car. Fitment is a little tricky with the slip joints (which suck, but every exhaust for our car has them except Nuespeed and SPM), and they neck down to the stock exhaust size where the downpipes meet the rest of the exhaust. This was done so you have the option of stock downpipes or either AWE downpipe option, but there is some compromise there.

I am currently running with stock downpipes, and it is a tad boomy and drones under acceleration. I have the new resonated downpipes AWE sent me, but have not got around to putting them on since I don't drive my car a lot (14k miles in 32 months). I'll go back to the resonated downpipes soon, and be a happy camper.

Yes, as mentioned above, got mine on sale from TAG. I buy most of my stuff on sale, but new. $1874 for the exhaust, $349 for the AK, $2200 for the Stasis coilovers, $379 for my sway bars, BC Forged wheels for $3000, etc. It's pretty easy to find deals. Some people resort to begging on the forum, I'm usually patient and wait for the right sales.... About to do Stage 2 tune and pulley when APR goes on sale in the next few weeks.

I stand corrected, great sale, good buy.
