    Aftermarket Radio No Power?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just as the title says, when I hook my Sony XAV64BT up with all the harnesses and such, no power at all. I dont know what I'm missing but there is no power to the radio whatsoever. ANY help is greatly appreciated as I'm no car audio expert. I got everything from crutchfield so I have the parts, just can't get it working.

    Thanks so much in advance.

    Regards
    Blake

    Which car?
Have you tried probing around with a voltmeter on the radio-side of the harnesses from Crutchfield to check for power availability?

I haven't. I do have a volt meter and I will try that after work. I have a 2006 a4 symphony radio. Well, had.. I just don't know how zero power is coming through or what I could be missing. Frustration!!

Crutchfield has great telephone support. Call them and they will walk you through everything.

If you can take a picture of your harness setup, that would be helpful. I have a lot of experience in wiring up B7's (I used to own one with an aftermarket HU). Also, I hate to be a broken record in this forum, but you should've gone to enfig for the wiring harness solution. No one knows how to plug and play these systems like Christian does.

Your car doesn't have an accessory wire at the stock wiring harness. So how is your crutchfield harness picking up accessory? I would check the supplied harness and make modifications as required.

Crutchfield usually give you the equivalent to this harness. That has no ignition or illumination or vehicle speed sense or parking brake or reverse wire.

    This one does.
    http://enfigcarstereo.com/ENFIG_SRWH_AUD2_NS.html

This one also does steering wheel controls as long as you add the SWCL.

This one takes care of the low rear audio on non bose systems and overall low audio on bose sysyems and also does steering wheel controls when you add an SWCL.
