    I like this one
It clicks on the vent very secure and holds my phone in very well. Kenu Air frame.

I ordered the Mountek nGroove Snap, the one that is designed to go into your CD slot:

However, I noticed that in the instructions it shows you how to dismantle part of the mount and then insert it into a seam in the dash. I tried this out and so far it seems pretty solid:

In the last shot, you can see the magnet with adhesive that I have mounted to the inside of my battery cover.

I still have the option of using the CD slot mount if I decide to go in that direction.

I have this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xx9mDK6scFw as well. Works pretty well except it does not fit inside of my Nexus4 requiring a case. Works well on my BB Q10 and and Relay 4G though.
Life has taught me never try to make something idiot proof, they'll simply come up with a better idiot.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.
I have neither the time, nor the crayons to explain this to you properly.

    +1 for the Kenu Airframe!

I travel a decent amount, and it's a great companion to put the phone in the rental cars. Sure beats the old portable NAV's with the bean bag on the bottom .

Looking for an elegant cell phone mount

+++1 for the Kenu. Currently using it as well.

There is a review about the Kenu on BGR today.

All - The mount itself that I find the most elegant to match the cars interior, has always been:

    http://www.kudausa.com/audi-a4s4-b8-...ack-a1305.html

It comes in most of the interior color matched LEATHER and you can use whichever cradle you want... also, provides an excellent place to route your cables to they are out of site for an OEM look. I personally haven't yet installed this in my vehicle, but will shortly. Also, there is no disassembly, drilling or damage to the vehicle required to install! It will install in <5 minutes and is VERY secure. These were/are the OEM mount of choice for BMW, Audi and Mercedes in Germany when you bought the installed car phone kits, back in the day.

This mount was great back in the days buts its approaching old timer status it looks old and dated. I would never put this into a new thats just my 2 cents.

the suction cup fits perfectly (barely) in front of the MMI screen. The wire in the pic is from the AMI so i can plug in to the phone for music (i don't have Nav, so no bluetooth audio streaming other than phone).

Easy as pie to remove if you don't want it any more. it barely blocks the right side of the screen, where the function buttons are displayed. I'm 5'10, so if you're over 6' and have the seat far back, then it might block more of it.

this is the bracket i bought.

one other thing to note about those mounts down by the stereo control/below the vents- you have to move your eyes lower while on the road. Mine being right at the MMI screen level, i find it to be much easier to check the phone and keep at least peripheral vision on the road. less dangerous...

Works perfectly. I plastidipped the cable of the Apple adapter black so it doesn't stand out in my interior. You want to use the real Apple cable because the cheap adapters don't work. I can add a pic later if anyone's interested. This is with an iPhone 5 running iOS 6 and now iOS 7. No issues with either OS. Bluetooth call audio still works great as well.
Bumping an old thread as I'm getting ready to duplicate your setup for an iPhone 6. Just wanted to say thanks for the info. I also found out the 30 pin extension cable you used doesn't appear to be available currently and went with one from CableJive. Will keep everyone posted.
