    2004 A4 Ultrasport Avant

I've come across a 2004 A4 Avant Ultrasport. Blue, tip, 127k miles. Seems to be in good running condition with the usual maint done and receipts available. I have no clue about the ultrasport. How does it compare in value to an S4 avant?

....honestly, probably better than an S4 would

people tend to scare away from the V8 and issues that might come along. This has caused values to plummet on B6/7 S4, even if they are Avants and even manuals. Before everyone acted like a 6MT S4 Avant was something great to behold and now people are having trouble even getting 10-15k for them depending on color/options/mileage

The A4's don't seem to be seeing the same depreciation of the S4's, probably because people aren't scared they're buying a time-bomb. I have been seeing USP Avant getting a pretty high premium, often more than a comparable S4 would.

I replied to who I assume was you on QW... I'd say it's worth 7-10k depending on condition/miles/mods/colors/engine/history/etc but people do crazy things sometimes so it could be worth more to the right person... If I recall correctly, all the USP adds is rims, the new body kit and prob some different dash trim and possibly headliner, nothing to actually make them ultra sporty. They do look good though, I'd love a white 6MT. (xxxxonecrewxxxx whatever his name is's white a4 w/ the usp front bumper is prob in my top 5 favorite modded cars ever)

As to the worth compared to a S4, there is truth to what BC said about the issues w/ the V8, I think that gas prices have something to do with people's reluctance to pick them up as well and ultimately I think that there was a real bubble in the S4 Avant market and now it popped and the prices are closer to what they should be... I've driven all 3 engines (v8/1.8t/3.0) and the S4 was the hands down favorite, as long as you don't drive a ton (I don't) I'd snag up a S with a good maintenance history and call it a day, esp w/ their new lower prices, they're worth the 2-5k premium over a USP imho.

I think the bubble point is accurate. Lots of S4's for sale and often priced based on the other cars for sale and their prices. the two USP cars ive found are at the high end of the silverbullet scale or above. I think I would rather have a b6 s4 avant or just a regular a4 avant at a decent price

USP looks better than the B6 S4 IMO. The USP bumpers are by far the most attractive OEM bumpers for the B6. Other than the obvious ones mentioned the USP does add sport suspension over the normal A4 - same as what comes in the S4 except for different spring rates up front to accommodate the extra weight of the 4.2. It really just depends on what you're after. For me the B6 S4 just doesn't do much.
