Sway bar end link questions (034)

So I got new sway bar end links to replace the fcp groton ones. The Groton links I had was tight fit for the bolt through the hole to nut plus the bushing were always bent. When I took it to a midas they did not say jack and after all it is midas. I know something is up

As you can see the bolt is barely through the nut on the lower control arm.

Why is it that there is adequate amount of bolt thread through the bottom link, where as on the top it is barely through. I feel as if the nut is just going to fly off!
Is it necessary for that many washers?

Where does the gold bolt with the large washer go? Does it go onto the sway bar itself or the top hole as pictured.

Either they gave you a bolt that is too short or the long one is on the other end. Are all of the bolts the same length? If they are not do you have the same problem on either end if you switch the bolts?
