Its because of your short trips, and the fact its cold out.

Condensation keeps on building up and your not driving enough to burn it off. Give it an itailian tune up (beat on it) for a good hour and your engine will be right as rain. Happens to my girlfriends mk5 also because she has a short commute and shifts very early.

The cream colored goo on your oil cap is the result of moisture contaminating your oil. It WILL burn off once you get the oil hot enough.

The coolant hasn't gone down. It was at the min level when i bought the car but rise obviously when hot. And i don't see any leakage anywhere

what can i say, I'm a girl, haha i don't like going fast haha. i called my dad and he scared me and said thats really bad and its my head gasket or my engine is bad but how could it be bad? only 27K miles on it but my dads head gasket blew on his MG so i know he's not all that clueless. Well fingers crossed nothings wrong with it. I've just never seen that before and was NOT expecting that at all. all i wanted to see if my oil level was okay, wasn't ready for that stuff! well thank you

Take it for a long aggressive drive or possibly get a new dipstick if the rubber gasket is bad and allowing some moisture to get in. I had this and started to notice the upper part of the metal dipstick to corrode.

On older cars (and still many current ones) milky looking
Oil was a tell tale sign your head gasket was gonezo.

Im not sure if it is limited to vw/audi products but its quite common to see during winter. A catch can is what is used to prevent this.

I'm sure your Dad is cool & all, but you're here asking us for a reason: we own these cars, work, tweak, break, and fix them.... suck it up and go drive the shit out of the car for a bit. Get the oil/coolant up to temp first, then MASH THE F*&K out of the throttle REPEATEDLY. Take your pops for a drive and make him crap his pants. You may need to wipe the seats down after you're done but you'll have some fun and clear up your "goo" issue.

Perfectly normal. Trust me, I live in MN. It's normal on EVERY car that runs short trips, as stated above, especially in cool weather.
