Area around gear shifter gets hot "shifter boot"

Earlier this year my clutch, flywheel, slave and master cylinder were replaced due to sticky clutch pedal and slipping clutch. During that time the shift boot used to get very very hot like a cup of coffee, even all the way to the ash tray where I left my mailbox keys which used to get dangerously burning hot.

However, now after the replacement it just gets "WARM" around the gear shifter area " shifter boot" after longer driving during the day!

I do have a JHM SS and wondering if it could be the "SS" since its metal transfer more heat compared to the stock one. Also, I do have the AWE downpipes and track exhaust if that helps any.

Does anyone else experience this? Dealership says its normal but after talking to JHM Motorsport's they say they haven't experienced that with their B8's

Here I have pointed out with an arrow of which area exactly gets "warm"
