Somethings i saw wrong with his car is. the windshield is cracked. the front bumper is ziptied to itself to hold a crack together. the ABS. ESP and brake lights are on, on the dash.

at stock boost what should the car be running? and what vacuum should you be reading?

this car was boosting at 4-5 psi and vac at -5.

is there something wrong with the gauge or is that normal for b7s?

Should be around 12 ~ 13 psi with a healthy engine if i remember correctly.

i agree 100%.
my B5 S4 maybe 14 years old but its completely maintained now. I told him to call me back once all those problems were fixed and see how much cash he'd have to adjust to mine.

Was the fender or doors painted as part of what led to the salvage title? I don't know if it's just the pic, but there is a noticeable paint color difference between the panels.

I would hold out for a nicer one if you really want a b7. Simply from the side profile picture alone, the paint is disturbingly bad. Since your car is up to date on maintenance and you know it's history, I would not make the trade (even if it is straight up). I owned a b7 for many years and it was a great car, but honestly the best decision i made was b7--> B5 s4. The a4 felt heavy and slow, and the clutch was very similar to a VW Jetta (feelings like you're pressing a piece of paper to the ground with your foot). The dashboard is definitely better in the b7, but those seats suck - they literally cannot hold you in. Other thna that, you will get great gas mileage, and they are relatively easy to work on.

Not that one in particular. But i would recommend a b7 to anybody. It was truely the perfect daily driver, and it looked the part of a car that was twice as expensive. Everything about the car was quality. The ride was smooth and I never had any major issues with it... but if you do buy one, keep your b5

I own both, a B7 A4 and a B5 S4....LOVE BOTH!!!!!! Do not get into that B7 if its salvaged title. If it were clean title, yes.

Yeah I would not get a car with a salvage title. Think about if you want to get rid of it later. It will just be a nightmare. What's the rush in getting this B7? Just wait until you find something you like....

I went from a B5 S4 to a B7 A4 and I do not regret it at all. Stock, the 2.0T is a little slow but after adding the tuning and the other upgrades we offer this thing really picks up and goes.

^^^^when i got the B7, it came with the APR stg 2 tune, and i am surprised on the power delivery for how heavy it is. I do want something more aggressive, like JHM tune...hint hint.
