    What tires for 3.2 18inch ?

    Hi guys,

I'm currently driving on Blizzak winter tire from the previous owner and realized the load tire was 93h. I'm on my way to buy new tire and I'm not sure if 93h summer tire will be ok or I should go for 97h XL.

Anyone tried Pirelli P7. Two garage recommended me those tires. My priority is confort and quietness.

What tire are you guys driving right now?

    Thank you.

I would stay away from the Pirelli P7s. I've heard nothing but issues from those. I personally would look for a good pair of Continentals or Michelins.

If you are looking for a good All Season tire that really performs in light snow, I highly, HIGHLY recommend the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's.

I'll suggest Michelin as well. They make a great tire. I have Pilot Sports on my 18s right now, and I'm looking at another set for my 19s.

I would stick with season dedicated tire and go with Michelin Supersports. Take a look at Tire Rack's website and you will see they are the top rated summer tire.

Thanks for the info. I must wear snow tires in my town so that's a second tires set for the summer season. I've just spot a set of 5 spokes mags from an s4 2007 18-inch for sale. They look almost exactly the same as my current 18s. Anyone know if these rims will fit on the a6. They seems stock.

I'll buck the trend a bit and say I can't sand the Michelins I've had. On my C5 allroad, they had a very harsh ride. I went from 18" to 19" and switched to General G-Max AS-03 and have much better traction and ride quality. Now I also have Michelins on my C6 avant and while they're a little bit better than they were on my C5, still can't wait to get rid of them. On the C6, they're the Pilot HX MXM4's. The tirerack surveys show pretty low rating as well http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....=Pilot+HX+MXM4 I can't speak to the Pilot Sports. The A/S 3's (W & Y) have better reviews http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....Speed+Rated%29

You should go with the XL load rating.

for summer tires I run Dunlop Sport Maxx, which are phenomenal. For winter I've run Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5s, but currently run Yokahama W.drive. Both have been great, although I subjectively feel that the Nokian were a bit better.

What I've learned is spend the extra $$ on good tires, since the difference between cheap and ok vs. more expensive and good REALLY do appear, especially when you actually DRIVE the car and later on in the ownership of the tires, when there's more wear.

I have a 07 a6 I had 19" wheels on it with 235/35/19 tires but they had impact bruises any idea what size I need to go to so the tire will have a little more meat on the road?

you should have been running 255/35/19, you could run 235/40/19 and you will be running about the same as you run today (1.4% variance).

Use the following for calculating sizes: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/tir...5r19-235-40r19

What about the Conti DW summer tire? My wife has them as her dedicated summer tire on her older BMW and they are really a good overall tire for the money. Ride is good and handling/turn-in feel is pretty good. Straight line grip from a stop is a little slippy even in the dry though on a RWD car.

The rims on the A4 should fit on your C6. I have those same rims on my C6 s-line with continental DWS. I think the ride comfort is good they have held up nicely over the past 2 years.
