    Super High mileage engine swap

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Im at 128k for a 2009 in Canada and not experiencing problems YET but down the line Im sure the automatic will go and the engine will be a sludge fest. It is on apr stage 2 for the past 10k+ so warranty is not a possibility.

    POSSIBILITIES:

    -TDI and transmission from europe or ROW market.
    I have auto wrecker options and can access non public auto auctions;
    -2.0 from a newer a4 or even a tts?
    -v8 4.2 from an s5
    -3.0 supercharged??
    -A 5 Liter LS motor? LOL
    Easy to convert auto to manual? what about Dual clutch?
    How viable are these options???

    128k? You consider that super high milage?

    Do a compression test, leak down test, see what the health of the motor is. As long as you have been on time with your oil changes sludge should not be an issue.

    128k these days...you have just now broken the engine in. With proper care there is no reason to believe you cannot get another 100k out of it unless I have missed something.

    WAYYYY down the line.. i would say 3.0t! For one it will fit into your engine bay 100%, with minimal fab work, re-pin the harness and be good to go pretty much, and readily tunable for much more power! Easier said than done but the way Audi builds their cars swapping oem engines aside from the wiring nightmare is as easy as it could get.

    By then maybe that engine will be available at a cost less than an arm
    And a leg.
