    Clutch engagement point.

I'm curious if anyone has suggestions on how I could possibly change the point at which the clutch on my 2001 B5A4 Avant engages. It seems like my knee needs to be almost completely up before the clutch is engaged. The clutch itself is new and was replaced recently by Anderson Motorsports in the cities. Ok, I'm probably just used to all of my more modern Audis where the clutch pedal starts to grab somewhere in the middle of its travel, and I'm just spoiled.

I've been told that it is a hydraulic system and that there are no adjustments. So, I HAVE adapted to it.

I figured if anyone knew of a modification, it'd be you guys.

I haven't really looked into modifying it, all I know is B5 series have really high engage points. Annoying at first, but once you relearn it's not an issue. Annoyed the hell out of me when I first got my B5 A4 after my first car with a really low engage point lol.

Hehe, yeah, EXACTLY! My knee should not have to be into my chest before the clutch grabs! I DO have it figured out now, but man, the first time I drove it, lets just say that I'm glad that a bunch of people weren't watching! I was starting to get on the gas early expecting the clutch to be engaged and it wasn't prettty. Not pretty at all. LOL.

Now, I'd just like to see the engagement point lowered for more rapid response in first and 2nd gear. Hack saw the pedal off maybe? (Not serious)

I've had 5 B5s plus a B5 Passat and its just seems to be the norm for these vehicles. Just put a brand new clutch kit and slave on the 2.8 last month and it still has a pretty high engagement point. I'd say just try to get used to it lol.

Buy a aftermarket clutch kit that uses a pressure plate that has more clamping load then the stock pressure plate, this will cause it to need more pedal travel to release the disk completely.
