Received my k24's today from SRM today, still waiting on clutch and dp's then I think for the most part I'm pretty much ready to help slap them on next weekend. Sticking to 3- until the clutch is broken in then gonna grab some injectors and a maf and get her tuned.

Yeah i'm pumped, still stumped as to why it started billowing smoke the one day and then stopped. I did a compression check and she checked out at 160psi on a semi-warm engine. Also did a c02 test and she passed with flying colors so head gasket is out of the question. I guess they just decided to make me buy some k24's and dump the k03's.

I don't even have them on and want to install my methanol pump and controller, not so sure it would be a good idea though, k24's on meth might be too crazy...

Of course ill take logs at 3- and then logs again at 3 to show differences and whatnot.

No you can see the welds that the right lower inlet has, just the picture does not show that it also has a bend in it there also.

Hopefully just trick photography, but whats up with the comp blade to wall clearance?

What size are the inlets, 2, 2 1/4?
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

I'm not sure whats up with the clearance It seems to be very tight, it doesn't hit or anything, but I'm not sure what it will do at 100k rpm... maybe someone else can ask Sean I think I have used up all my questions for the month.

    1 and 7/8th inch....

Lol, used up all your q's

They dont look centered in some of the pics. Maybe lighting or they just find their home when they see oil psi?

You can move the chra's on these with little effort, you can make them hit the side of the housing pretty easily. Hopefully that's not going to be a problem....

Even brand new bw k04 move a bit, but I wouldnt think they should be able to touch the wall.

Journal bearing turbos will have slight play without any oil pressure.

Maybe the looser tolerance helps journal life and then they come back with the 20-50w to stiffen it up.

I put in a set of zero tolerance k04 years ago. Interesting setup and they are still rocking today.

Man, I usually stay away from the oil debate

I would prob look into brad penn though.

There should not be side to side play on a turbo. In and out play, maybe. If you have this, you have a problem, especially if it is a brand new turbo.
Don't believe me, call a turbo rebuilder and ask their opinion. I've rebuilt enough of them myself to know.

    I think that is backward.
Side to side- a little bit on a journal bearing, in and out (thrust)- no.

Yes it moves side to side a little bit, thrust there is no play what-so-ever.
