    Next mod suggestion....

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Haven't updated my sig in a long time, but I am looking to get back into putting $ into the car. So whatever is in my signature, plus the following is what I have :
Catless DP , software, non res exhaust, flapper mod , 034 MAF hose, rear sway, coils, lightweight battery
I can't really think of anything else.

So I'm looking to spend no more than $1500.
Do I do a bunch of small things or go big?
Looking to get some extra ponies if possible
I don't NEED rotors, but if it's a great investment then fine....
    Jhm LW rotors
    Jhm intake manifold
    Jhm LW crank pulley
    Snub mount
    Jhm solid throw shifter
    Intake spacers (mixed opinions/feelings)
    Motor mounts
    Fuel filter

Or anything else that I've missed in your opinion

My plugs have been replaced recently btw.

Are there any/new DIYers out there?
I've been out of the car scene for a few years now

    What software?
    How many miles on er?

Prob fuel filter, diff fluids, tranny fluids, brake fluid, coolant flush, JHM 6 rib conversion and call it (maybe $ JHM manifold spacers?)
Getting the maintenance items is not so much fun but will ensure a care free running car.

JHM LWCP, snub mount, short throw shifter (definitely) and intake spacers plus the maintenence items should all be doable for well under your budget. Especially if you DIY. Should have enough left for the JHM tune as well.

JHM tune. Obvious choice. Use the rest for routine maintenance and detailing.

I hear mixed reviews on the intake spacers. Like it's a waste of money or a PITA to install or can't notice any difference before and after. ?

They do work. You can feel the difference with your hand -- the IM will be warm to the touch after driving versus first/second-degree-burn-causing hot.

It is an involved process to install them, but isn't very difficult.

I just installed my intake spacers and yes they were a PITA to install but you WILL notice a change in torque and the key is the lack of heat soak that builds up so even if your driving in the summer heat you should have at least stock like engine power more similar to colder winter temps.

I've read the reviews where people claim after a hard drive they can touch their intake manifold after the car has been switched off for a few minutes because it's so much cooler. Well I think that's slightly exaggerated since mine was still pretty damn hot to touch even after 5 minutes but you get the idea.

I would love to see what a dyno says about the spacers.
Either way it's good to have a cooler intake..but power/torque increase claims I like to see the data.

Might be tricky to show on the dyno. Maybe a bunch of runs back to back? (to show the heat soak not sapping power)

I just installed the ECS motor mounts and snub and it feels like a new car! For under $300 I would recommend the upgrade.

among the many many upgrades and parts I've thrown into the replacement engine were the JHM intake spacers. Granted, I had the engine on an engine stand, so it was very very easy, but the result is night and day regarding heat soak on the IM. For the cost, it is one AWESOME mod. I agree on the ECS motor mounts and snub btw!! I also used their engine mount resistors. I am eagerly awaiting the JHM tune to arrive Monday or Tuesday... From what I hear about this tune, it should make the rest of the car night and day! Just my opinion, but the spacers are a good spend...
