as the title says, if you have a lead on a set of calipers or a junked car I could pull them from, let me know!

Just going to be using them as a parking brake, so I'm not that worried about what shape they're in

ORLY? Well, my buddy who works at a machine shop is building me the brackets. the general idea is to use whatever calipers and oem-fitment rotors you want, then build the brackets to fit them...

and of course the rear will have two calipers. I'm not going to be selling them due to liability and general PITA but will help anyone who wants one build their own, give them my insight on the project post completion and testing, etc. its actually coming out to be quite cheap compared to an aftermarket F+R BBK.

My interest wasn't in purchasing, so your offer is perfect. I don't follow the twin disc thing though. ..got a thread that all this is going down?

word, perfect! there are not twin disks at all haha. that would be EPIC though, now that i'm thinking about it......... just kidding that's ridiculous. No thread about it... i started a thread in the b7 section just asking if anyone else has attempted this and got a bunch of rooks telling me i'm gonna kill myself lmao. but that was like 6 months ago, since then i've done a bunch of research and talked to a few shops who do this regularly. one of them is a little ways south of denver => www.IPSCO.org (they make a handbrake also)

basically my only hesitation in upgrading the rear to 4-pot calipers was that I wouldn't be able to keep the handbrake. RS4 rear brakes are an option, but they aren't 4-pot and the modification on a b6 / b7 to get them to fit is unreal. plus they are ungodly expensive, and most people only want to sell them in a set of F+R because its hard to sell them alone (by which i mean people actually look up the DIY if they're buying rear only, realize the work required, and bail).

So realistically options are aftermarket handbrake, or use the stock caliper. turns out our stock caliper can only clamp down on paper-thin rotors but i'm looking to use vented S4 rotors. so either the IPS handbrake caliper, which would most likely (confirming this whenever they email me back today) require a modified e-brake cable, or use a B6/B7 s4 rear caliper so it can fit the vented disk back there. obviously the aftermarket caliper looks way better than stock b7 caliper, but i'm not really worried about looks to be honest. its about 1/2 as expensive, not counting the modification to the cable, to get used calipers - so its all about what you wanna do. my goal was to keep the F+R bbk project under $1500, but it looks like i'm going to be at around $1700 since i didn't foresee the b7 a4 calipers being so ghetto, and underestimated fab time of the bracket.
