That code is tied directly to the G62 temp sensor. If you replace the sensor you may want to check the harness for continuity. It may not be getting the signal properly or at all.

    Are there any other codes?

just because the sensors are new doesnt mean they are not faulty. when i replaced the one that went on my rear coolant flange with a new one, i had the fan problem, so i put back the old one and the problem went away. just my .02 cents

It is not oem to me it looks aftermarket ...the old one was the reason why i swapped it. The ad said oem but idk for sure. I just need to swap with another one. But can it be anything else besides sensor i changed my coolant and bleed the system . It seems fine

Grab a Genuine Audi sensor, some of the aftermarket ones are not great quality, we have them available below.

i put one of those green ones and the fan went on, got a code on vag that would not go out and the fans would go on, i forgot what it was. i replaced it with the old blue one that was in there and he code and fans went away.

FYI if your vehicle came with a blue temp sensor chances are you have a B5 and not a B6. All B6's came with green temp sensors.. B5's up to VIN 8N-Y-015000, (the split is in 2000 model year) only had blue 4 pin temp sensors.

Last thing I remember, This is a B6 (silver), not sure if someone can confuse it with a b5. if the sensor is blue and i get no dtc, then the sensor stays in, lol

I'm getting a headache reading this thread...

OP, you may have a bad thermostat.

Also, you said you bought the sensor from Amazon, not ECS....and why would you expect a parts house to troubleshoot for you?

98% of the time the fans coming on is the sensor. I literally just had the same issue. My temp sensor was failing which caused my gauge to work intermittently and eventually stop working, my fan would came on upon cold starts as well. Then finally it caused my car not to start when it was cold. Had a new Genuine sensor installed and it fixed everything. No fans running, no cold start issues, and the gauge works as it should now.

Like I said before aftermarket sensors are hit or miss. If the sensor you got from us is causing problems we'll be more than happen to refund you for the one you purchased. It's highly advised to use a Genuine sensor for this particular situation - you don't need the blue sensor it is not for your vehicle.
