No, I didn't forget the IS300's powertrain similarities with the MK4 Supra, I just recalled I had seen an LS3 powered IS300 that has been associated with previous TXTK events, so I drew that conclusion.
I then just did minimal homework and looked at the owner's name next to the IS300 on that whiteboard which reads "Matt Owen" and a quick google and youtube search shows an LS3 powered IS300 owned by a "Mathew Owen" who has in fact been in several 1320Video clips as well as previous TX2K events, and is from Texas. I could be wrong but I could have sworn I saw it in a recent 1320 video in one of their "cash-bash" events sporting a turbo, though I have had trouble finding it this evening.
So I was not implying that an IS300 is only quick with a motorswap from another platform, but rather I recalled seeing an LS3 powered IS300 associated with this event in the past. So I made an informed guess to speculate as to what the car on that board had done to it.

Quote from Matt about his choice:
The idea behind this swap was really based around parts availability. At any given moment I can browse through hundreds of parts for sale on either my local craigslist or automotive forum. With tons of options, parts availability, great power curve and reliability the GM LS based engine was a solid choice.
Now does that make me a GM fan? No I've owned a handful of MKiv supras and have a deep love for the 2jzgte. Does swapping a cheap readily available engine into an affordable tasteful sedan make a good business model? YES!
So next time please dont come in here assuming we are all uninformed idiots.
