Painted calipers? Pictures / thoughts? Done well they look very good

I am not changing out the brakes but always looking for subtle accents.

Car is Monsoon Grey - will sit behind gunmetal BBS CHR's this Spring.

I may be doing mine yellow or red on my ibis white, i was planning for 380mm but i dont need them, interested on how you monsoon will turn out

I did mine red, they look pretty cool and it was easy to DIY for $40. I think the red accents all the S trim pretty well, otherwise I would have done yellow. I have no need or $ for a BBK. Might put some nicer rotors on when the opportunity arises.

Keep in mind that he has a StopTech BBK, which will look much nicer, but regardless, his car looks great!

These are fantastic - thanks so much - yes will be a (my mechanic) DIY as I need pads anyway and am spending on the BBS's (with Summers) instead of a brake kit for now.

Did you have to take the calipers off to paint them? I need to do this when the weather gets warmer.

you can do this on the car , just take your time and clean them with brake clean then lacquer thinner with a good 3M red scuff pad . pop the S4 brake clip of and paint

I did them while mounted. Just taped down the surrounding area and did my best to paint the whole thing. I didn't go underneath the car (a little paranoid w/o wheels on lol) so the back of the caliper is still stock black. The G2 paint kit came with aerosol brake cleaner and I made sure the surface was very clean.

I want to do this too. I was thinking about doing this since I need to rebuild the OEM calipers (torn dust boots, rust, and the S4 logo is completely gone) anyway. However, I still haven't decided on the colors. Initially, I was thinking about staying with black and paint the S4 portion silver (with or without the S4 logo). But I also like the red calipers, so my other choice is red with the S4 portion black (again with or without the S4 logo). Hmm...decision, decision...

Nice site, on this page http://www.xenonmods.com/xenonmods_audi_items.htm they have chrome bulbs for the turn signals that wont look orange when unlit...

This could be a fun spring/summer weekend project. Not sure which color to go with on my black S4. Bright red may be too much contrast for me. My next thought was silver, but then I risk them looking like the medium/bright aluminum color floating calipers that appear on other 'lesser' cars. Maybe I leave them black and save myself the hassle haha
