    Looking for new seats

Ok so I have been looking/searching/reading/researching for ideas for the past month and can't find the answer I am looking for. I sat in an S4 and absolutely fell in love with the seats. I want a set for my 04 A4. Now I am having a hard time finding an all black set of fronts in good shape that are not super expensive. My question is are there other models that have similar seats that I could swap in or am I stuck looking for S4 seats? Also is there another option out there that could possibly be more comfortable? Thanks for the input everyone.

The only seats that are plug and play are the B6/B7 S4 recaros. I love mine, one of my favorite mods.

on my old B6, I swapped in a set of A5 sportline seats, which looked like the new B8 seats and had way more lumbar support than stock. bought/shipped them from the UK.

I have S4 seats in mine, and it became my only realistic choice. For me it was either replace the seats or replace the car - the stock seats suck!

I'm sure that you could physically mount all sorts of other seats, but you will set off your airbag MIL if you don't have something in there that looks (electrically) like a stock A4 seat. In many states, an Airbag MIL will cause you to fail inspection.

BTW, don't even think about similar era VW seats. I found a nice set of factory Recaros that came out 2005 Jetta (I think), and they had a WAY different means of mounting - not even close!

Just a thought and I'm not sure how expensive but maybe stop by an auto upholstery shop and see if they can re-skin the fronts with some added side bolsters and bottom padding. Other than that save up for the S4 Recaros. I found a discounted set at Shokans as they were dyed a non standard color. I bought some dye and redid them myself. They came out "just OK". The AZ thread is here somewhere as I documented it. I'm actually going to pull them again this spring and redo them but this time with a detail sprayer. Good luck.

ive been quoted $100 to stuff the seats in my 3.0. However, the shop didnt want to stuff the bottom since they said it would defeat the use of the seat warmers. I'd really like to have my seats "overstuffed" so that when Im hitting turns, I'm not sliding around.

Pretty sure the answer is "no", both mechanically and electrically.

    I stand corrected. Here's a thread on it... http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...light=tt+seats

I *think* some of the early TT seats do NOT have airbags, so just be mindful of that.

The pics of the "tabs and rails" in that thread are MK2 TT. The MK1 TT rails are narrower, I had flat steel cut and drilled. Easy to do, here is a pic when I was mocking them up

Here they are installed. I had to cut a square in the lower plastic so I could retain the comfort light in the rears

As far as wiring goes, just find someone parting a TT and get the car side of the harness plugs, splice them in, easy. Best mod Ive done to my car so far. Though, oddly, fully manual, and no lumbar, still comfy though
