Ipod Touch iOS 7 is incompatible with AMI connection

Just upgraded my iPod Touch to iOS 7. My iPhone 4s is not yet upgraded. Now, my iPod cannot be detected via blue AMI cable. iPhone 4s still connects via same blue cable. Need to get iPod Touch reconnected. I have: 1) restarted my ipod, 2) Synced to iTunes, 3) connected to AMI cable with cable already connected, 4) Disconnected AMI cable from car then connected iPod to AMI cable first then connected back to car, 5) Called local Audi dealership's service advisor. None has offered solution.

2011 Audi A4 quattro. Using blue AMI cable. My MMI version is HNav_US_P0114_D1.

Which ipod touch? I've used my iPhone 5 with iOS7 and had no issues, but I'm in a 2014 A4 with MMI 3G+ so it might have something that your car doesn't in terms of compatibility.

Is your car MMI 3G I assume? Have you checked if there are any MMI upgrades available?

Yeah IOS7 blows. If you can't figure it out, buy a restored ipod classic off amazon and just leave it in the car permanently. They're 80-140$ and I can fit ALL my music on there. I picked up an 80GB for cheap.

In iTunes I converted all my AACs to MP3, deleted the AACs, and copied my library to a SD card. I actually like that a lot. I know its not a direct answer to your question but I figured I would offer a comment.

Thanks. If I don't get a AMI or BT solution working, I will try some of the workarounds posted here. My ipod touch is the 60GB, Model MC547LL/A, Version 6.1.6. So, I guess I'm not running iOS 7 afterall. Regardless, the AMI fail began 2 weeks ago when I upgraded this ipod's software. I'll try the BT connection. The car has MMI 3G. The dealer's service advisor said there were no MMI upgrades currently available. But, they seemed to be pretty clueless on the phone having to put me on hold to ask other advisors before answering my question. So, I plan to look further to see if I can upgrade to MMI 3G+ like you are running.

For what it's worth, I have no issues with my iPhone 5S or iPad Mini on iOS7. Either via direct AMI (30-pin to Lightning adapter) or via the Audi Bluetooth Adapter. Both work fine.

    Car is a 2010 A4 w/ Radio Concert.

I just learned that Version 6.1.6 is, in fact, the latest update for iPod Touch. So, I do suspect it causing my issues. I have sent an email to Audi customer service and will post anything here if it solves the problem
