The display on the instrument cluster shows mph info. Can that be changed to display the mpg?

It's in your owner manual... not to be a dick, but it's the fastest way. Don't know of the b8 and the b8.5 have the same methods of changing so I won't confuse you.

Don't know about the 2014, but my 2011 is changed by the bottom button on the wiper stalk. There are several different settings to view different things on your dash panel.

it's the right stalk on your steering wheel, the one that controls the wipers, it has 2 buttons on the end of it press those to toggle between options.

only thing is i think only Prem+ and Prestige have the mpg and all the trip stats, if you have a basic Premium one i don't think its there and you might have to use a vagcom cable to unlock it.

Assuming this is towards me haha... truth be told, I wasnt trying to be a dick. In fact, I said that lol. the b8.5 has a facelift steering wheel compared to the b8, among many other minor changes. with that, I did not want to confuse you and say, "oh its simple, just a use the stalk" Instead for you it could be one of the extra buttons on the wheel... I wouldnt know. Therefor, I suggested what I did and look at the manual. easy as that! :)

That's cool..I wasn't near my manual at the time and was just throwing it out there to anyone that might know, but guess what..I ended up reading the manual to find out when I got home last night..so maybe I am the dick..lol...no more drama :-) I am just here to glean from you experienced Audi owners...as this is my first and I love it!

Slightly off topic, but my 2010 Premium has the driver information display, however I don't have the buttons on the wiper stalk. I assume I can only view the standard screen with range, odometer etc. OR the radio controls when I press 'Mode' on the steering wheel. Can anyone confirm there's no way to view additional information like average MPG, live speed etc. on my Premium with concert radio? Thanks.

on my 2013 is the button on the end of my wiper stalk. you should be able to click through til you get to the mpg info. I assume the 2014 would be the same.

I also had a 2010, I don't believe you can, unless you can code it through vagcom. I did many things through vagcom and never came across it but doesn't mean it's not there or the possibility doesn't exist. There was an option offered that included the button but forgot what it was called.

Yes, you can enable trip computer on premium cars that don't have the stalk controls via vag com - only thing that can't be accessed with this method is the instantaneous speed display. Instructions are in the vag com thread

    Edit: because I'm feeling nice

Trip computer (changes the miles to empty display in the DIS to whatever you would like i.e. ave miles/gal, exact miles/gal, etc - adjustable in the MMI - go to car -> instrument cluster, trip computer 1 is reset after the car has been off for a few hours and trip computer 2 needs to be reset manually. Turn all options in each menu off, except for the one that you want displayed)
