    B8 S4 Calipers on B7 A4

Hey I was wondering if anyone has done this. Any benefits besides running a little bit bigger rotor?

Only thing I found was this forum for a b6 (should be the same as a B7).

It's been done. It fit perfectly. But you'll need B8 calipers and carriers with a B7 S4 disc. Not sure if it's worth it compare to the B7 S4 carrier. If i remember correctly, the caliper is single piston. like the B7. I could be wrong.

Well I found some B8 S4 calipers, carriers, lines, and pads for $200 (front). I think I am going to pull the trigger and then get some Stoptech B7 S4 rotors to go along with it. Cheapest Cayenne calipers I found were $500, + rotors + pads + lines and fluid = more than $800 :(

Edit.. If I waited a little bit and saved for the Cayenne setup - I have 18x8.5 VMR 708s - would they still fit? The Porsche brakes are f'in huge!

Remember VW Touraeg brakes will also fit and I believe are the same as the Cayenne Porsche's.

Any updates? I'm getting ready to do the same upgrade. i got a free set of B8 S4 calipers so I just need to get everything else. Are you going to change your dust shields to B7 S4 as well?

    Please post some finished pictures!

I just got my rotors in the mail on Friday. I am going to refinish my summer wheels and then install the brakes (hopefully before the weekend). - I would do it sooner but they wont fit with my winter wheels. I also want to do a 60-0 brake test with stock / s4. But I will take pictures of install process and after.

isn't the B8 still a single piston caliper , what is the size of the B8 rotor , just did my S4 rotors and carriers since the B7 s4 have the same caliper . They are working just fine for what the car is doing

Yeah B8 is still single piston, but it can fit B7 S4 rotors on there. I got the calipers and pads (basically brand new) for $200 off craigslist. Which is cheaper than buying the carriers and pads for A4 calipers. Plus these are painted black with the S4 logo on them.

Got it done this weekend and it went pretty smooth. Only issue is B8 pads have different sensors. I going to do some research on vag-com the error out instead of splicing the cable. But I can live with the light for now. Another small issue is the calipers I bought don't have the anti-rattle clips, so I have to order those today.

Before shot of the rears, so much corrosion and brake dust on

I sanded the rears down using 180grit sand paper and cleaned them off really good with brake cleaner before I painted them black.

The lines on the b8 calipers are wayyyy longer. So we zip-tied them.

    Finished rears

    Finished Fronts

All in all I spent $443...some beer and food for my buddies for helping and 2 hours of casual "work".
Front Calipers, lines and pads - $200
    Front Rotors - $135
Rear Pads and Rotors - $95
    Black Caliper Paint -$8
    Dot4 Brake Fluid - $5

Now I just need to sell my winter wheels and buy bigger ones because they wont fit hehe.

Also if anyone knows what I need to do to code out the brake sensors in vagcom. That would be much appreciated. I did a quick search and couldnt find anything. I thought there was a sticky forum of all the common codes.

I also did this 'upgrade', but plugged in the brake sensor from the old pads to defeat brake codes. You will have to visually inspect pads instead of relying on the brake sensor.

I have been looking but haven't been able to find it. You may have to short the wires together. That will shut the fault off at least. I'll mess with VAGCOM this weekend and try and find the coding for the sensors.

I think the braking is considerably better plus I got rid of that annoying brake clunk that plagues some B7s. I missed out on the S4 rears and on the hunt for them now.

Hi @SLYCAT not sure if you remember now all these years later, what was the smallest rim size that would fit over the new larger rotor size? Was there ever a fix for the brake sensor? Thank you, Simon

I just did this mod and found another posting here on Audizine that claimed it clears 17 inch wheels. My Avant has 19 inch Peelers so there is plenty of room.-

    Thank you @AvantB6.
Did you have any codes from the brake pads? I read the brake pad sensor connection are different. Some people solder the old ones on or something like that?

The person I bought the calipers from used the sensors off the pads so instead of using butt connectors or messing with soldering I ordered 2 new sensors off of eBay and they were shipped to my door for 15 usd. Here’s the link to the sensors.
