the Bentley Manual DVD only works with windows XP - has anyone managed to get the bentley dvd to work on their windows 7 computer? i'm thinking of getting the manual, but that really sucks that it doesn't work with any of the up-to-date operating systems..

You have to use Windows XP Mode on Windows 7. Only way I've found that you can use it. I'm also guessing they are not selling well anymore considering you can't get anything with XP on it, and even businesses are finally upgrading from XP as well.

Linky, please? I've been searching on the Bentley website, and I can't find it. The only thing I see are the various workarounds that may or may not work with Win7 Home Premium 64-bit.

none of those workarounds work, the only way to get it to run is using the XP mode virtual machine (or another VM running XP)

To run Windows XP mode you need to be running Peofessional. Other than that use a VMware with XP installed or use a computer running XP. You can also just run a dual boot on your computer so you can either boot to Windows 7 or Windows XP. Just make a small partition on your hard drive for XP. Big enough to run XP and have some space for the Bentley.

    Yes, yes, all nice workarounds.

But c'mon, this is 2014. If you want folks to purchase your software, make it compatible with current operating systems.

That's why I went with the old school hardcover version. I don't want to dual boot or run on third-party shells.
