    White or Daytona Grey

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi

Looking at a black edition a4, and initially wanted a white one but there were none available on short delivery. Dealer had a Daytona grey so was going for that. On Friday dealer called and said they have a white one in, what are your thoughts as I am thinking stick with my original choice.....

    Cheers

Can't go wrong with either one. Do they both have the same options? I feel like there are a lot more in white than grey though, both are nice.

If you're set on the white, get it! You don't want to regret the color of your car after you buy it.

Identical cars just different colour, I really love the white, and had it been available straight away would have been a no brainer...

    Go with white IMHO...

Anything with the term "Daytona" is an invitation to disaster. It shall be forever burned in my mind by dodge for the wrong brand association. You don't want to start off your new car experience with some bad ju-ju.

    (Do I hold a grudge?....HELL YEAH!!! )

Sounds like you've made your decision. Personally I chose white because I really like how it shows off the car's lines and features. Also, I think it stands out more so than black or gray yet, it isn't as isn't as in your face as red. In the end it's completely subjective, choose the color that will have you doing a double take after parking the most.

+1. I love my Daytona Grey, it's such a dynamic colour and its very unique. As far as greys go, it's pretty much perfect. It's light enough to show off all the contours and lines of the car (like white), but dark enough to still show off a lot of detail in the reflections (like a black car). The perl effect is kind of the cherry on top, in the summer sunlight it's very eye catching.

Loved my IBIS White A4, but does not hide dirt AT ALL. Now, if you're parking in a garage - that may help. But, wow. Seemed like my past Audi was always filthy! Even a day after a good wash. Opted for the Monsoon Gray Metallic this time around and let me tell ya, it's night and day difference.

Just something to keep in mind. Either way, ENJOY!

    White or Daytona Grey

I think I am going to go with white as it was my first choice and I don't want to go for the other and then be gutted when I see a white one and as the grey I saw didn't make me do the double take. Where i live I haven't sen a black Edition in white...getting the rear windows tinted down subtly too.

I believe white is THE most popular car color. Have a look today as you drive around and see who drives white cars. Mostly Women here. Daytona is spectacular and can be cleaned up. White (like silver) never really look dirty until after you clean them. Easy choice for me but to each his/her own.

Grey. Best color for a car I ever owned. Easy to keep clean, hides the dirt, and very forgiving of scratches and blemishes.

The downside to colors like Grey is that when you do clean it up, it doesn't look much different than when its dirty. Its good and bad.

I think thats backwards. It really shines when clean whereas white doesnt reflect or shine the same way. Like silver. Dk colors really shine and show definition.

Darker colors will always look deeper with more shine.

Grey masks a lot of dirt, so it always looks about the same, clean or dirty. Black, White, other colors show dirt, so when you do clean it there is a noticeable difference. I'd spend all afternoon detailing my grey car and my family would ask what I did all afternoon. With my black or dark blue car, first comment in the door is 'you washed your car'. That's what I'm talking about. White may not shine as deep, but its there is still a noticeable difference between clean and dirty.

As an enthusiast who keeps their car clean, Grey does nothing for me. Its so low maintenance that when you do clean it, that wow factor isn't there.

cant go wrong with either one, if you liked the white then good choice on that.

personally i love Daytona Grey though, probably my favorite Audi factory color. mine is pretty much close to a matte version of it, but i do love gray because it can look close to as good as black when clean and detailed and gives off nice reflection/shine, but also hides imperfections and dirt very well, and still looks good when dirty.
