    Wuuuu's 2013 S5 Build Thread

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Current look:

Picked it up on Jan 29, 2013. 2013 S5 prestige, Glacier white/ Black, ADS, sport differential.

    Mod list:
    Done:
Xpel Ultimate full front and rear bumper (Had partial hood 3M until today, VERY happy with the change)
50% Front, 35% others Formular one pinnacle window tint
Black RS5 grill, blacked out fog lights and window trim
    P3 air vent gauge
    Eurocode stabilizer bar set
Eurocode front and rear end links
    Eurocode Alu Kreuz
    KW adjustable spring
Milltek non- resonated exhaust with quad black GT tips
    APR stage 2 pulley
    AG M580 matte brushed gunmetal 20*10 et25
    Ecodes
    Black fog light grill
    Interior LED set
    Roc Euro intake
    DEVAL rear CF diffuser
    DEVAL front lip
    Carbon Fiber mirror caps
    Carbon Fiber interior trim

    Things to be done:

Alcantara steering wheels (On the way)
    BBK?

    -------------
I just realized that I really don't have many pics of the car...
    The only stock one:

I love peelers at that time, so got a set and powered them matt black. Tinted the windows trim at some point as well.

The car was kept like this for a very long time (about 7 months). Then I moved from Indiana to LA where the real fun began.
Decided that I don't like the silver grill. Went with a Black one.
Added spacers/ KW adjustable spring/ Sway bar/ End links/ Alu Kreuz at the same time at Eurocode tuning.

It looks so much better with black grill:

Then I got distracted and got this to fight LA's terrible traffic:

Well, soon enough I realized that I'm not a bike man... Sold the bike and back to play with the 5.

And this is so much better, Milltek exhaust. The picture shown is the resonated version. But it's too quiet for me so switch to a non- resonated one two weeks later.

The rear mufflers are for sale

Finally tired with the peelers, got these: BBS CH-R 20* 10.5 et 25 with PS3 285/30 (because PSS were backordered..)
Added more negative camber to the rear to reduce the rubbing. Thank you Mops for the advice!

Just this monday, I was hit-n-runed in a parking lot.. Left front fender was damaged.. Well it gave me a chance to finally sweep out the old 3M partial hood clear bra.
Picked up the car from the body shop yesterday and got full front and rear bumper Xpel Ultimate today. Very happy with the change.
    Before:

    The line was quite obvious..
    After:

So much better than the 3M which was actually yellowed first on. The XPEL on the other hand is crystal clear.

The fog lights are blacked out to match the theme.
Not a huge fan of the chrome rim protector.. Might pull them off at some point

Ecodes were ordered yesterday and will be here next Thursday as well as the black foglight grill.
Will take more pics after install them Can't wait!!!
Funny thing is I never thought I would ever pull the trigger on Ecodes until someone posted a thread last week.... From then every time I walk to my car all I can think is " I need those as well...."

Great build! Although late, it was a great reading it in one shot. Like what you did so far, but a little more low up front would really improve the look. You have some mild reverse rake in that last pic

Surprised you can do a 285 with et25 and not rip through the fenders

Nice little story:) Love the CH-R's! Still miss mine often. I would certainly pull the rim guards at some point. You can check the "Racedoc" car as he has black ones, and removed his. They just draw too much attention, imo. Also much prefer the BO grille Ecodes are going to look fantastic. The 285's look nice. Funny thing is, I think my 275 PSS are just as bulky up near the shoulder. They have such a square sidewall. Thanks for sharing!

OP, you should get the rim guards color matched to your paint. Just an idea

I absolutely agree with you guys and I tried to lower it when I first got the wheels but it rubs on every corner and bump. It might because 285 is too wide. I'm gonna try again when I go install the ecodes. Otherwise I better wear these tires out fast

No problem man! Looking forward to your new wheels

Well it kinda does on the front and just enough to clear the rear after increase the negative camber.. 275 is a better choice.

Well I noticed Porsche is using the same wheel style often (black with chrome rim protector), thought I would give it a try. Not really working out for me. Also I remember that you had 5mm on the rear? I don't so maybe that's why?
Gonna call Eurocode first thing tomorrow to make an appointment for the ecodes

I thought about it once but gave up the idea. I'm not sure if white will make much different as chrome when it comes to this. Also if using powder coat, I might need to get a new set because once they are pulled off, they can't be put back on? I'm not sure but it seems a lot work to me either way. Might as well just get ride of them.

You will find a clip in each front inner fender. Remove it. That is what you rub on first. It's not needed. With that and some additional negative camber up front, you'll be rub free for normal driving.

Thank you sir, I will look into the clip. As of the front camber, the alignment shop I went to told me that it's not adjustable.. weird

You cannot, but more low up front provides negative camber naturally. I have around -1.8 up front by default.

Just some updates.. Got full LED interior lights installed. And pull off the rim guard on the CHR. 1000 times better this way!!

Is it just me or the front/ rear angle look weird? I wonder if lower the front will improve that.
The foglight grill I ordered said satin black on the website but came out silver.. Ordered new one from a different place. While I'm waiting, painted the current one. Turned out pretty good

Hopefully the ecodes can be on tomorrow. Would complete the front look.

Looks good! I'd like to see the CH-R's in daylight. I especially like the black ones without the rim guard. Fog trims look much better. The black gives a much more aggressive look, and makes that area look larger, which is a good thing.

It's the roof of my apartment haha. Don't have much open space here in Westwood.
Here are some daylight photos.. Will try to take some decent ones after ecodes.
Wheels need to be cleaned though. I should change the braking pads.

I'm actually considering the carbon fiber rear diffuser.. But somehow it looks too aggressive to me..

Ecodes were installed yesterday. Drop the front for around half inch to reduce reverse rack.
    Quick iphone pics:

Car looks so much cleaner now. Very happy with the ecodes.
Will try to go lower when I'm done with these 285s and switch to 275
