front door lock switch indicator - no light anymore?

    Hey folks,

My door lock switches and central locking work fine but for some reason the indicators on both front door lock switches are always off since some recent time.
I am talking about the indicator between the lock/unlock buttons on the driver/passenger door lock switch - http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Site...2107/ES371564/
Any pointer what could be the cause?

    Thanks!

Has anyone had this problem? I know it may sound like a "first-world" problem but I'd like to know if my car is locked/unlocked from a glimpse on a door switch...

Perhaps I'm misinterpreting your question, but the lighting in lock switch doesn't indicate whether the car is locked or not. They're just backlit.

    mithril, you must be right.
So my problem is that this backlit is always off on my both front doors.
And I have seen it on before (most likely when I have my headlights on, right?).
Any pointer what may have caused that they are always off now?

Probably just failing LEDs. You can always scan for codes, but replacing the switches is probably the easiest option.

Folks, I guess it is me being stupid...
There seems no LED between the lock/unlock keys for C5 Allroad/A6...
I mean, my lock and unlock keys are backlit as they are supposed to be...
I just thought there is an indicator between the keys that is supposed to be on/off as well.
But it is not an indicator, it is just a small plastic piece.
I guess I got confused by my wife's 2010 A4 that I drive from time to time.
Hers does have an indicator between lock/unlock keys as you can see here - http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B8_A4-...itch/ES453023/
    Sorry for a stupid question.
