Angry Mototec exhaust install and tail pipes hitting back bumper

    Hello all,

I bought a mototec complete catback exhaust and had it installed on my car by a local exhaust shop (was a used exhaust but only a couple months old). With that, it looks like it has been adjusted as much as it can (from the middle adjustment plate) but what is happening is the tail pipes keep touching the edge of the bumper and making a loud rumbling/vibration sound.

So what the shop told me when I complained is that they can put some clamps on the back mufflers (where they sit on the hooks) so that they don't move? Is this correct and is that how it is designed to work?

I feel like I am missing parts and thus the reason they have to put clamps on? Shouldn't there be some play/movement in the muffler areas for turns etc rather then them being clamped down so they really don't move much.

Any ideas would be appreciated and if anyone put on a mototec and knows if I am missing a part, please let me know the part that I need.

    Thanks everyone.

Not sure which model you have, but on mine there is a slip joint on each side just rear of the center resonator, and another just before each muffler. Between the two, you can adjust the position and angle of the muffler so that the tip is centered and that the muffler itself doesn't hit anything. I put small screw clamps on the hangars to dial in the centering of the exhaust tips because I'm "detail oriented" like that.
