    Used APR TVS1320 kits

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
With the release of the new TVS1740 kit, I figured there were going to be owners of the old kit trying to upgrade. It may be a good opportunity to get your RS4 into the 11s for a relatively low price. Anyways what do you think these kits would go for? As a buyer, I wouldn't pay more than what it costs for a JHM stage one kit plus it's used so that should hopefully drive the price down even more. Depending on mileage and condition, is $5-7k a realistic price or is this just wishful thinking?

Here's a kit in the classifieds for reference.

7k miles on kit, $11.5k. Originally paid $13,950.
I don't see him getting anything close to that but what's your take?

I think $6-7k is fair when you consider you are picking up around 100whp and 50wtq. That's a great balance for anyone who loves the JHM price but prefers the APR hardware/install. But since there have never really been any used kits for sale yet for the market to determine where the true value is, it's all a guess for now. I think there's bound to be a stalemate between the buyers and sellers for a bit.

    I'm thinking $6-8k for it.

For $8k one could just buy a NEW JHM stage 1. I don't know a better argument than that. And producing better 1/4 times.

I guess you would also need to factor in a tune with the APR kit as well.
Where as I think if you already have a JHM tune its a free update to a S/C tune.

I agree, but there are always the fanboys who would prefer to buy the APR product.

It's different products for different applications/goals. If your primary goal is to go as fast as possible in the 1/4mi, we know which kit you should buy.

From what I've seen from a performance perspective JHM Stage 1 and APR 1320 are equal. As well as the JHM Stage 2 and APR1740. Now if ur referring to .0x-.1 being "better performance" then I guess I could be wrong. But to me such small differences can easily be attributed to track/driver/condition/supporting mods/I had a big lunch.

Does that offer include people buying a second hand unit from a private seller? If that's right it makes buying a second hand unit more attractive.

The big difference is one kit is about twice the price for similar power/torque.
Even if you are a APR fan its kind of hard to ignore.

Being an intercooled kit that goes in place of the manifold is preferable if you plan to track the car. It may not make the most power on the first lap, but the intercooler is necessary for consistency, especially compared to a cone filter in the engine bay.

Free software for buyers of a second hand kit. There is no incentive for owner of tvs1320 kit upgrading to the new kit.

I see this kit already going off topic. I'm just interested in the input of the old kit. There's a whole thread on the pros/cons on their new kit. Thanks

I think the kit should be priced in the $6-8k range if all components are included. There is a lot of shit that goes with the kit apart from just the blower.

Rule of thumb for me has always been 50% of original price for aftermarket parts. If there is a full warranty from APR and it includes installation that would be a smokin deal.

So we know APR discontinued the old kit (TVS1320), but were any produced but were not sold? Or does/did APR only build to order? I would certainly consider buying TVS1320 for a substantial discount. I just cant justify spending [what will end up being] $20k.

JHM Stage 3R Series Flywheel, Clutch, Pressure Plate. JHM Short Throw Shifter & linkage. 034 Motor, Torque & Trans Mounts. Apikol Rear Diff Mount.
Deflapped intake. K&N drop in filter. Decarbed.

All 1320s were sold long before the 1740s were released.

Based on feedback moved price to $9950. Also confirmed with APR that the $1500 software fee will be waived since I'm purchasing another APR product. All parts come with.
