DP and HFC on stock exhaust?

Just wondering what it would take to put an upgraded down pipe and high flow cat on stock exhaust. The wife gave me green light to start playing with my car and I figured I would start there. Thanks for any help

Tune is where you want to start. High flow cat would be your best bet out of those two since the down pipe comes with most exhaust systems, and an after market HFC will match up with your stock exhaust.

Unless you did a HFC and FMIC then flashed a stage 2 tune, your basically looking at a brand new car.

i dont think he shouldnt be getting tuned for something he didnt install first

As for the the upgraded hfc and dp install most companies like jhm or 034 will supply hardware kits for theirs such as studs , washers and gaskets so that you can do a proper install for your new setup may cost a few bucks extra but its worth it in the long run other than that the only other thing is getting your old exhaust off the rest is cake.

    ???

A stage 1 tune requires no hardware changes and offers a good increase in power vs stock.... That should be the first step, then if op wants he can get an HFC or tp and get stage 2.

Im not saying he was totally wrong but it couldve been merely worded differently so that he doesnt do anything backwards , im stage 1 myself so i know what your saying but it seems as if he already knows what he wants to do and since he was asking what he would have to do i was suggesting he put his hfc & dp on first an then get tuned for stage 2 all in one shot rather than having to make 2 trips to a shop for a reflash .

Reflashing the tune is free? May have to pay a small cost for the small amount of labor time but that is dependent on your shop you use. Also depending on tune it may not even be needed for the reflash, APR for instance just removes the CEL. Yeah you can do both at once but if you are deciding between HFC/DP and tune, get the tune hands down.
