Navigation Question for Pre 2012 S5

On my Nav, it shows the roads in various colors. I think I have this XM Sirius traffic update thing for a few more months (bought it CPO). Are the colors of the streets indicative of traffic conditions? I don't have the 3G subscription, but it looks like I have satellite Traffic. Does it incorporate conditions in the MMI display or is it only when you hit the "info" button and it just shows you text alerts. Havent figured out the color coding yet as it seems different than the standard green for good, yellow for moderate, red for stopped

I looked at the Sirus subscriptions for traffic. It is pretty cheap at 4 bucks or something a month. Does the Travel Link subscription integrate with the 2011 MMI?

    Thanks

This should answer all of those questions. The short version is yes. Green, orange and red colors are shown for traffic conditions. The info alerts are also displayed on the map.

The roads themselves are color coded to indicate the type of road regardless of traffic. Blue indicates highway, red is a major road and orange are side roads, basically it indicates the speed limit of the road. The traffic flow information is overlaid next to the actual road to indicate traffic flow in either direction as seen in the video above. Traffic flow information is only available in major areas. Outside those areas it only displays incidents.
