Just removed rear seat for cleaning. I know, it`s possible to do all the cleaning without removing also but the lower part was not fixed very well and I wanted to address this issue also. As a result, I think I can help a little with this "never fit the same" problem.
My seat clips came off from holes and stayd fixed to seat. As a result the hole edges were a little bent upwards. Marked with red. Pushed those back.

Plus the wire frame beneath the cushion was also bent in the fixing area. On the right you can see wires already pushed pack, on the left undone.

When installing seat back, align carefully wire loops and clips (be sure that clips are also installed as on first pic - carpet between special groove) and push it back. I stepped on exact clip position with my heel, it didn`t "click" when tried to do it with hand. Considering this, I recommend bending hole edges and wire frame back quite a lot. And evenly on both sides. If it`s too much, it simply will not click and you can do something about it. If bent too little, it will click easily but you might get seat still not fixed firmly.
And next time I need to do this, I will get new clips from dealership. I guess I was lucky they didn`t brake this time. 4L0886373 should be code for my version. European 2010 A4 Avant that is.
