1.8T Oil leak, front of engine

Having an issue tracking down an oil leak, thought someone might be able to lend a hand on some insight.

I can see oil on the oil pan, front motor mount, near the power steering pump. I have 3 or 4 drops on the ground in the morning after it sits during the night. Valve cover gasket is good and dry around it. Any ideas? Cam sensor seal maybe? I haven't had a chance to tear into it, hoping someone could give me some direction where to look.

Check the oil filter location. Could not be screwed on enough. At the same time when oil changes are performed, sometimes the filter base can become loose and leak around the block to oil cooler mount point.

I'll check it out, had an issue with the oil cooler gasket before a while back. Would that make it all the way to the front of the engine. It's only on the front of the motor.

Who knows, you are not giving us much to work on so I am going for simple to spot and down low. On the front: well, it could be power steering too. It could also be upper camshaft seal or lower main seal too. The real answer is you need to rip things apart and start looking. Anything other than that is a guess on our part.

Something else you could try to locate the leak is clean up the oil that is on whatever. You could be getting oil splashing back to parts while driving. Also check around the oil filter as said before. These cars are notorious for leaking around the oil cooler gasket which just sits right about the oil filter.

I've got a small leak from my camshaft seal that I thought was a head gasket. Tear off the front and follow the trail. Have plenty of time and plenty of wine.
