Looks like a hole in tue oil pan leaked out all the oil. So the engine is toast.

What all should i replace while swapping in another 2.8 engine?

Side question - will a 2.8 fit in the hatch of a b6 a4 of should i use a truck to pickup engine?

replace pretty much every rubber gasket/seal because those 2.8's love to leak oil from one place or another. Same goes for plastic pieces that are probably super brittle.

and I would guess that it will fit in the back of a B6

I'm more worried about the weight of the engine causing damage.
