So driving Home a slow car in the Left lane decides to road rage. I drove up on him going maybe 5 to 10 over Far left lane and slowed down to a car lenghts cause at the time another car was in the next lane over on the right. all the sudden he just takes off so i go back to going a few over the speed limit but in no manor chasing him. when i caught back up to him for he started to go below the speed limit again he started to brake check and drive erratic If i went around him he would speed up cut other cars off and cut me off and brake check. if i just slowed down he would slow down and brake check, if i moved to other lanes he would chase over regardless if i was in front or back of him. The last time i was going from the left lane to the right as i pulled beside and away he just pulls into me...

Fallowed the guy who was waving something inside his car in his hand and trying to yell something i didn't even row down my window waited to cut behind him to call in his plates which appear to not belong to the car it was on. Aggressive defense and defensive driving will fail if other Driver it just a dick. One person called and said we were Speed racing, but the plates match to an older hyundai or a non turbo Subaru. which the cop said how could i not just fly away. which i said i was not trying to race trying to just get away with out endangering me or other cars

So Waited for police, filed report due to not 100% knowing what car hit me. my colorblindness doesn't help with getting the color 100% on, He said the plates didnt match car so they might be stolen.
Filed with State Farm who i have full coverage, but not sure how a hit and run works. anyone have an idea?
Also now i need a body shop the closest one that does full service for state farm is Macco... yeah.. Not going there

Sucks dude! I have a lot of experience on both sides of a hit and run. Were you ticketed? I take it the guy got away?

Long story short, your insurance will cover it. Someone reporting you as racing may cause you problems, but if the cop didn't ticket you it should be straight forward.

Your insurance won't know about the so called "racing". If you weren't cited for it they will never hear about it.

To avoid the Maaco treatment you will have to fight. Be ready not to take no for an answer.

I was not issued a ticket unsure if he put it in the Report of racing i explained what the car was doing and how defensively he was still going after me and if i tried to speed up and away he would chase and cut other cars off
to which he said he understood. He knew what kinda of car i had cause he said in a v8 s4 how could i not just race away, Which i explained i was not in a race just trying to stay safe without putting others or myself in harm which he agreed
too.

I dont have to go to macco its just the closest one to i take it in and they fix everything. the other shops on the list i have never heard of.
Anyone with state farm use one they have on the list? im more then welcome to go to another shop but it would mean a longer process i just want my DTM fixed right. my alighnment will be the hardest thing to get them to redo

as of this moment other driver is out there somewhere. I know he didn't call in or i would of been forced to drive to where he was or he to where i was to acknowledge yes that's the other vehicle and person.

I was involved in a hit and run about a year and 1/2 ago (in FL) and was able to have the repair done at an approved Audi body shop. (Insurer was Progressive) I would make it clear to State Farm that is what you want. Go on the Audi website to find one in your area:

I used Prestige Audi's body shop (which is Audi certified). They did great work, but are very expensive (which shouldn't matter if you are going through insurance). Just be prepared to go through a few supplements because insurance companies low ball the hell out of the initial estimate (mine ended up being double what they originally thought). I don't believe you'll have too much of a problem with the repairs.
Sadly my car was involved with a hit and run but I found the bitch that did it and used her insurance for the repairs and it was State Farm (if I remember correctly).
I took my car to Prestige Collision and they fixed it and all was paid for by the insurance. I'd try to take there talk to Alex Cairo he was a good guy.

I went with ABRA auto body as they are a preferred autobody shop by USAA..... they did good work, but the paint on my hood was a little "hazy"

State law allows you to get your car repaired at the body shop of your choice. The insurance company can not force you to go a shop of their choosing. All you have to do is let their adjuster look at the damage and give his estimate for repairs.

M&M Auto out in Aurora has done some great work for me in the past I would have no problem ever going back for work. Talk to Matt Collins and you will be taken care of.

I know they do the repairs for Prestige and are on Audi's list. i know nothing about SVE and M&M. Any input i cant deal with it till Thursday for i work 9 to 6.

From what i can see: Front driver door Dent-paint marks to metal, rear Driver door Dent-Molding broken-lower spoiler broken-paint scraps to metal, Driver side skirt broken, Driver rear pnnel dented scraped to metal, Alightment off, From impact door switch on driver door to window's lock broken, Slight vibration during speed above 50( most likely due to alignment being off now)

I got T-boned back in october and I took mine to Stuttgart Auto Body. They did an impecable job with my car and color matched the new paint perfectly. I recommend checking them out at least.

IIRC there was a whole thread about M&M about a year ago about some EXTREMELY poor service. I could be wrong but I believe it was M&M. I think it was greedo's thread.

Yeah that was the shop, the shit looked terrible. Jewell Auto body ended up redoing the work since it was such a shit job.

If you're up to driving it to Littleton for repairs I can vouch for Tight Curves Collision. They've done two jobs on my car in the last four months or so (one my fault for going too slow and turning too sharp *slow is bad for me lol*, other an airborne ski) and I've been quite happy with their work AND service. Last I checked there was only one bad review on Yelp and I suspect there's more to the story than what the person wrote; it just seemed really out of character. Greg and Dezi have been nothing but friendly, enthusiastic (Dezi has a few classics of his own, usually one or two at the shop and he likes to show them if you ask), and professional.

Dezi sat in my car to pull it in to the paint booth and said he didn't come out for over an hour as he was too busy checking out the stereo and MMI gadgets haha. Now he wants one :P Said he's always disliked Audi but this S4 changed his mind.

The speed at which they've got my car repaired and back to me has been really fast too. They're not a high volume shop as far as I can tell. Just steady. New rear passenger door and some metalwork on the dog-leg between the door and the wheel well, dropped it off Monday morning to wait for the adjuster to show up within 48 hours, it took the adjust another half day, they got the ok Wednesday afternoon, I had my car back Friday afternoon. Ski incident required a new windshield, front grill, front impact beam, splash guard underneath, and hood (my request, I told them I refuse to have a bondo'd hood and they completely understood. I agreed ahead of time to pay the difference if insurance wouldn't replace it). Dropped it off Tuesday to await State Farm's insurance adjuster, looked at it and called me Wednesday as I was leaving work, I approved what he said, and had my car Saturday at noon.

Edit: Oh, last time I was there just hanging out and BSing I asked Dezi what he'd charge to repaint a car. He said around $450 per panel for basic paint but obviously the paint dictates exactly how much. Then we got off on a tangent talking about paint colors and costs. Some of that paint is ridiculously expensive!

damn 450 seems kinda high i was hoping to be around 150 to 300 since they are already painting 1/3 of the car it can be that much more for the paint and the hood is not hard to take off so prep of sanding is way easyier then a door or even taking a bumper off

Years ago when I did car stereo and automotive theft repairs for Insurance companies I would visit M&M often along with a lot of other auto body shops, and I can say M&M always seemed very sketchy when I was there to the point of being very annoying, I can understand asking questions about what I'm doing but to have a employee follow me around and watch my every move while I'm doing a job that the insurance company is paying me for and M&M called me out for made me feel like they were trying to hide something or were worried about me being there for some reason.

The best body shops I dealt with and saw quality work come out from were ABRA, Cars, and Centennial Auto Collision, but I was a contractor for the insurance companies and was providing the body shop a service, so cant really say which one is better than the other on the customer side.

And that's why I feel good about having a carry permit. If someone has no problem ramming into you that person may have no problem escalating it to actually causing bodily harm.

Wonder if it was a failed PIT maneuver.

Yeah i have my CC and alot of times have my 9 or 40 on me, but you dont need a cc if your in the car just good reasoning to why you shot to protect yourself.
I dont think it was a failed pit maneuver guy was just erratic and dangerous
