    britishturbo's Single Turbo S4 2014 Build Thread

    So I decided to make a new thread for my 2014 build since my original thread (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...le-Turbo-setup) exploded into such a huge thread.

    Currently a work in progress but here's the recipe so far (At least what I can tell you ;-))

    3.0 Stroker Engine:
    JE 83MM FSR Pistons - 10:1 Compression Ratio
    JE Tool Steel Wrist Pins
    Integrated Engineering Rods
    ARP 625+ Custom Aged Rod Bolts
    ARP Custom Main Studs
    CNC Ported 2.7 Cylinder Heads
    +1MM Supertech Intake Valves
    +1MM Supertech Inconel Exhaust Valves
    Supertech Solid Lifters
    LOBA Solid Lifter Cams
    83.5MM Head Gaskets

    Billet Dry Sump Oil Pan w. Integrated Girdle
    Peterson 4 Stage Dry Sump Pump

    Borg Warner EFR 9180 Turbo w 1.05 AR T4 Exhaust Housing
    Quick Spool Valve

    Direct Port Nitrous

    Megasquirt 3 Standalone Engine Management System

    Any thoughts on using the turbo rpm sensor?
    There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

    Nice! Thats gotta be an extremely powerful/useful sensor.
    Especially if the MS is setup to use it.

    FSR pistons. Have an assymetrical design for reduced friction and weight.
    My rod and piston combo is lighter than stock by quite a lot.

    "The Quick Spool Valve has a butterfly valve blocking a scroll of the divided turbo housing, making the turbo act as if it were a smaller turbo. All the exhaust energy is routed through half the turbine housing, causing the turbo to spool at a much more rapid rate. In other words, the spool valve is essentially "halving" the turbine A/R when the valve is closed, and then you get close to full A/R when it is opened.     Essentially makes your turbo small(k03ish) at low RPM for better spool then after it's built up boost makes it a large turbo(gt99ish).
