No the dog engagement has nothing to do with straight cut gears or not.

im curious to see how the afr turbo performs and also very curious to see what gains you will achieve with your cnc'd heads

the quick spool valve is pretty cool...almost like a VGT turbo on a diesel....just sucks when the quick spool valve fucks up

From what I have seen the quick spool valve gets you on boost about 400-500rpms sooner...your car should really move.

one question.... how is this going to be street car with megasquirt in it? Are you thinking of having ghost ECU in the car and powering it up for emissions purposes?

Im not a fan of the QS Valve at all. Burnt up 2 different turbos on my built stroker supra. Its not a uncommon thing behind the scenes, just no one really talks about it. The car drove way better with out it on. I dont know how far the advancements have come in the B5S4 platform since I left but, Can you do boost off the line or rolling boost. Have both those in my built big turbo GTR, and they help leaps and bounds.

Cant wait to see this build finish..

Do you mean break boosting? Both techniques you are referencing are just hitting the brake and gas at the same time, no?

I've heard this quite often. Although it seems like a good idea in theory, I'd be damn scared to run it due to potentially flying apart (especially at that power level) and taking out that wonderful EFR turbo.

I'd rather just run a twin-scroll manifold and a properly sized exhaust housing. I doubt the difference would be more then 200-300rpm if that.
