difference between s line and non s line suspension

Hey guys as above just wandering what the main difference us between the two cars
Reason I ask is I'm looking at lowerng my car and a lot of websites are saying for example 35mm drop not for non s line models
Obviously the s line is lower than the non s line. Would the springs not fit at all or would they work out at different sizes on different car?

They would fit just fine, I think they are stating you won't get the same amount of drop coming from an s-line, compared to a non. Due to the s-line being lower already

Here in the U.S., the S-line (sport suspension) is a 20mm drop. In Europe, I believe I read somewhere that it's 30mm.

AFAIK, in the US on the B8 there really is no "s-line" suspension. The S-line package comes with the sport suspension which is a 20mm drop.

If you put lowering springs on oem non-sport shocks, you will reduce their life, perhaps severely. Hence the warning.

if you are getting lowering springs like H&R OE or similar, then it will lower your car to the same height, s-line or not. you only are lowered if you have the sports package which has the sports suspension, same as the S4 has, and is lowered like 20mm from non-sline height, but the thing is with for example H&R OE's which give a ~32mm drop from non-sline, will give a ~12mm drop on a sports suspension (which is 20mm lower already), but you'll end up at the same height.

In Europe "S-Line suspension" is 30mm drop, "sport suspension" 20mm drop

To add to that, in the UK, the S-Line model gets the 20mm "sports suspension" as standard. The 30mm "S-line suspension" is an option, why they done it like this? gawd knows.
I have the 20mm drop "standard" on my S-line and it's OK, firm, good for keeping body roll down etc, but not hard enough to jarr.
