    VCDS backup / restore?

At the dealer today to get my A5 serviced, and when the tech plugged in their diagnosis tools it reported that a few modules had been changed from factory settings (I disabled DRL wink, enabled hidden menu, ambient lighting). Apparently he spent some time 'troubleshooting' that.

My service rep asked if I had made changes, and informed me that they may have to charge me for the time spent investigating the module changes. Also mentioned that per Audi policy, they will have to reset everything to factory default.

So before I take my car in next time, I guess I better first undo all changes. That leads me to my questions: does anyone know if VCDS offers a quick way to:
    - Save all changes for a quicker repeat next time around
    - Restore/undo all changes

Not a big deal to do it manually..but would be nice if there's a shortcut.

Asked this question once on another board, and as far as I know, there is not automatic way to do this (I also keep a list of all the things I changed, and needed that list few times already.......

Figured as much. Thanks for confirming. I'll just keep track of my changes and undo/redo before and after a service.

Guess I'm lucky at my local dealership. The shop guys there know I changed some settings, and preserve them.

Run an auto scan of all modules and save the file.
This makes a list of all installed modules, with various data, including the long coding of each.
If you do this before and after doing your vag com mods, you'll have the original coding for each module as well as the modified coding. Shouldn't take all of 5min to swap the coding of your modules back and forth with all of the long coding strings handy from the scans.
The dealer module reinitialization procedure won't modify the adaptations of the modules (my dealer had to recode my car when they replaced a faulty module, and all of the adaptions that I had modified were left untouched)

Um, I call b/s on charging you money to investigate the "changes". There is no proof that you made the changes and if there were no codes, no need to investigate.

Dealers would do anything to charge you more money, for their profit. I once had an issue with my remote control. After they couldn't figure it out the 3rd time I took it back, they said, well, your car had an accident on the left wheel, so that may interfere with the module. If you take it back to us again, we'll charge you $$$ to look at it the 4th time.

The thing is, the module is on the right side. After that I just did some googling, found the module, simply pressed in all the connectors into the module a little harder. One connector went in about 1 mm more. Problem fixed!
