    Loud after run fan

Hey all, just looking for some insight. Turned my car off and expected to hear the fan kick in after engine shut off. The fan did start up but suddenly started to get very loud, like an airline turbine. It would the cycle to the lower fan speed and back to a higher fan speed doing this about five times. I'm wondering if anyone could give insight as to what this May be. No codes. Attached is a video for reference.

    Thanks in advance.

It's possible your coolant temp sense is on its way out, although it sounds to me like the fan blades are rubbing the housing or something, creating the excess noise -- especially if there's a possibility the fan has been damaged recently.

Thanks for the reply. I do have the lower temp coolant switch. Also, my car was in a fender bender a couple months back. Damage was on the right front fender. The body shop I took it to took off the right fender And bumper.. Might have something to do with it?!

Check if all 3 of your fans are working. Could be a bad fan, temp sensor or fan control module.

I say sensor or fan module. Check all three sensors! Cheap enough to replace them all anyways. Fan module cost a little bit so wait to do that and see.

I kinda have the same issue but my electric fans are kicking on in 30* weather so I believe the bottom sensor is bad.

Thanks for all the responses. I believe one of my fans is out. I am going to have it checked out hopefully sometime next week.

    Thanks again!

Check the other fan, they do this when ones goes out.
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

Hey. Yea as the previous poster said, one of your fans may be out. That's what happened to mine. Reason it gets really
Loud is that the fan is trying to compensate for the other one that's out. Replace the fan that's done and you'll solve your problem.
